just installed my new Aerocatch hood pins

This project has been a long time coming..

The old Sparco pins i had were just trash.. they were nice for a second.. but they just didn't hold in the carbon fiber hood. I was lazy and just didn't care for some time.. then.. the other day i when to open my hood and the whole latch came off(not the first time this has happened).. and I just trew it away.. in frustration.

Forcing me to do something about it. So I ordered these Aerocatch Plus Hood latches

pretty good price.. less than a bill shipped. Ordered on Monday showed up at my house on thursday morning.. hell yeah.

So I called around asking some body shops how much for them to do the job.. I didn't do the first set.. scared of F-ing up my hood.. i got 150 from a few 120 from a few..

Went to home depot and Lowes to check out the price of a dremel.. So yeah.. i said FAK the body shops.. got a 55 piece set for 101 out the door and did the job myself.. I look at it as if i got the work done and a free dremel. lol

So here is some of the work...

the outline

my new toy

makin sure i don't cut outside the line

my lungs hate me... i was wearing a mask.. but tiny little fibers

almost done

The directions say to make the latches go in a front to back direction rather than side to side... but my old pins went side to side and I needed to cover up the trashy holes.. well get rid of them with one big hole. lol.. but i still like how it looks and the are secured down with crews rather than craptaculare rivets.

So fresh.. and so clean clean

and my favorite pic of the evening

I've always liked the look of the flush hood pins... Even if they are facing the wrong way

I installed mine in a slightly different location (this picture is a couple years old, I now have a CF hood):

Re: just installed my new Aerocatch hood pins

Thx everyone.. i'm very happy. although i do like where you have your pins 71.

i should be getting my shift boot/e-brake boot/and console lid cover in the mail next week some time.

any suggestions from the 5 spd swap crew?? I don't have any latches inside my console to attach anything to.. I'll think of something but i'm very open to help.

Thx

If I get hood pins, these would be the ones to get cause I like how they sit flush with the hood
