Reflash? Tune? What should I do?

I have a 1999 Prelude base 5 speed. It has an aem v2 intake, spoon racing test pipe, hks dragger exhaust and dc headers. Would it be worth it to have it reflashed or tuned or somthing along the lines of that? If I did it would I see sufficient gains?

The ecu is OBDII so w/e you did it would go back to stock settings right quick and maybe 5hp. If ya got the money to throw around tho put it on a dyno just see what #'s ya get and see how good/bad the engine is.

Re: Reflash? Tune? What should I do?

spend the money for OBD2 >>> OBD1 harness and crossover.

Then, you can get it tuned and not have to worry about it unlearning the tune.

THEN, go get that bad boy tuned

Re: Reflash? Tune? What should I do?

Probably a gain of 4-6 hp. I can't say for sure though.

Re: Reflash? Tune? What should I do?

IDK with all the extra mods a tune would be a great idea. I think you would see more than a 4-6, itd be well within reason to see 8-10.

but by the time he got home the ecu would revert back to OE specks so it would be as it is now and he's out some money. If he wear to get the right ecu that would keep the tune on it then ya a 5-10hp maybe but i would beat you right now if you took the money for the tune and did a good tune up you would come put far better.

Re: Reflash? Tune? What should I do?

yes when i asked what i would see with those mods and a good tune i assumed that i would have a good ecu/chip. lets assume i'm running 160whp completely stock, now with the catback exhaust, headers, test pipe, aem v2, with a good tune then what do you think i could do?

Re: Reflash? Tune? What should I do?

i would guess you would be pushing 180 with the basic breather mods and a tune.

save the money for some better mods not to sure how much the ecu would run you or the tune. Other things you might want to look up. Light wight fly wheel, stage 1 clutch, and a short throw shifter you can just bolt them on and no need for a tune.
