So I'm now at a fork in the road...

I've found a 1999 Prelude SH with 114K miles on it, and its pearl white. The pricetag is 7K. Car is completely stock, no accidents. Clean as a whistle. Since I'm still getting into things here, what do you guys think? Worth the pricetag or should I keep looking?

Re: So I'm now at a fork in the road...

I can check up on this guy literally up my block that mentioned to me that he might be selling his stock white SH Lude with 75K on it for 6G flat!!! It's in NY. I can try to contact him and see if he is def. selling it or not. If so I can also get the stats on it and get pics of it.

He barely drives it bc i always see it parked on the streets bc he said he trains to work and he only bought the Lude to practice stick and that he already replaced a new clutch in it recently.

If interested then keep tabs on me to remind me and i'll try to get in touch with him on his decision!!!

7k is a little high for a 99 with 114k

Re: So I'm now at a fork in the road...

Yeah, I decided not to go with it. The mileage was too high for me considering I'll be getting a 2 year loan with the car. However, I'm figuring out that finding a prelude within 1997-2001 with low miles (50K - 70K) is harder then it looks haha.

Do you guys know of any other websites I could use to search for preludes for sale besides craigslist, ebay, and autotrader?

my 01 had about 120k on it. would be hard to find one under 70k and i lived in Roswell when i bought mine. Think about it a 01 lude would be 8 years old now and from what i hear ppl drive on average 10-12k a year(add on a few b/c the lude is so f@#king fun to drive) so an 01 would have around 80-96k, a 00 would be 90-108k , 99 lude 100-120k, 98 110-132k, you get the idea. i would say if you pick up a lude under 140k and it drives fine no leaks and all that you will be fine. Hondas can go out to 200k b4 they need any work, and that will be a few years.

Re: So I'm now at a fork in the road...

Good call not getting that car, the price was too high. I know it's a hell of a project but if I were you rather than trying to find a lude with less than 70K on it grab a higher mileage lude and drop a JDM H22A into it and get some more HP and end up with a "better" engine with low miles (35k on mine when I got it, I used my stock 5spd manual trans and added stg1 clutch). It will take more time and effort, and its not feasible if you NEED a car but it is an option to think about.

Yeah, I do have plans with whatever Prelude I attempt to get. It seems all the ludes with 70K - 90K are going like hotcakes on the interweb lol
