Icon5 Fuel Pump Kill Switch Install

Hey guys, I just installed a Fuel pump kill switch in my 1997 Prelude. I have a 7amp key switch, 30amp relay w/ 1.5amp diode, and 30amp inline fuse, all connected with 18gauge wire. Is this a safe setup? Will my 7amp key switch burn up while I am driving causing my engine to die?

Thanks

Hmm, do you know how many amps the fuel pump draws? Because I don't want to buy another "key switch" if I don't really have to. Thanks

Please tell... I would also like to know the amperes.. As well as what color the fuel pump wire is, I plan to install a fuel pump kill switch this weekend.

Re: Fuel Pump Kill Switch Install

Don't want to start a whole new thread for this question so I hope I can get a quick reply.

If I were to connect a fuel pump kill switch to my alarm, allowing me to control it remotely, is there any method of bypassing the alarm remote.(from a thieve's perspective)

thxs

Re: Fuel Pump Kill Switch Install

As for the current draw for the fuel pump, not too sure. What is the rating of the fuse that protects that circuit? That's what your switch should be rated at.

As for bypassing the remote to get to the fuel pump, I'm going to say no. However if a thief really wants your car but can't start it they'll just pick it up on a flat bed truck and take it - happened to a friend of mine.
