Re: Inside door handles peeling

I have this problem. Bad thing is, it's on both door handles. And my gf has cut her finger twice on the foil film. I was thinking about taking it out ripping off all the film and spray painting it black. but i dunno yet.

That sounds like a good idea, but it'd be kinda hard to get the back of them painted, unless you could take them off, but i'm thinkin that could be a hassle? Yeah my girl cut her finger once on it too. Mine is just the passenger door though.

Yeah, i guess their isn't much you can do about them. you figure Honda would figure out stuff like that happens and make something to fix it, or SOMEONE would have some kinda solution. I cant think of crap. Kinda chaps me a little.

Yeah, but they arent gonna look that great painted, right? I mean, would metallic paint work? What kind would be best?

Re: Inside door handles peeling

Yeah another reason why I was debating this was because I wouldn't want a flat spray painted black look. It would need to be a glossy finish. So hit it with a coat of black then a coat of gloss or what?

Re: Inside door handles peeling

I was thinkin maybe just gettin the chrome paint and going over it a few times, or if you want black, possibly just, find something other than flat black? Or clear coat it as well.. maybe. No paint expert though

Re: Inside door handles peeling

i've actually been considering doing this to mine. Mine are peeled off but i think it'd look good with a dust black paint job!

You can get trim paint for plastic in both flat and glossy or you can get Self-Etching Primer and paint it with just about any paint you want.
