Re: Need Help!

is that a picture with the wax already on it? The spray paint will definately be very obvious. If you could post a cleaner pic of just the damage without the wax on it that may help a bit more.

Re: Need Help!

i'd recommend you get someone to fix that professionally, the damage is pretty nasty and you will be a million times happier in the long run with the end result! and definately no stickers like that imo

agreed 100%. It may cost you about $150 or so but it will be worth it in the end.

Re: Need Help!

Dude get it professionally done. I had almost the same damage on my explorer, and I covered it with white primer (my truck was white) and You couldn't notice the damage until you were right up on it, but it still bothered the hell out of me.

If you know how to work a slide hammer you can pull some of the damage out yourself, although I wouldn't recommend it. Its best to let a body shop handle more serious damage like that.

Re: Need Help!

A shop will fix it 100%. Taking into concideration you were willing to spay over it and slap a sticker on you expectations are no to repair it to factory condition. Talk around with friends and family and see if they know anyone who paints. You could even hit up local parts stores. But almost everyone knows someone who paints. To pay them for their time and materials to do a GOOD job that you should be happy with will be much more cost effective than a body shop which can get expensive quickly due to the fact that they will fix it to their standards which may not match yours. Talk around before you make a decision.

Re: Need Help!

na im about hte door. it looks better now thats first. So i will put the stickers on both sides and 100% u cant see nothing there. And actualy i was allready thinking to put them stickers before the scratches but the damage.... i dont know. Maybe id i put body filler and try to make it same as it was and sand it so it would be smooth and all that? then painting it?

Re: Need Help!

If the turtle lipstick and wax will fix your problem, you don't have to buy spray paints anymore...

Re: Need Help!

your best bet man is to get it done right the first time. slappin some bondo on there and spray painting it isnt gonna do the trick. and we all kno that putting a sticker on your door/ fender is a lil ricey i guess you can say lol
your gonna end up kickin yourself in the ass when you had wished you just got it done correctly the fisrt time

Re: Need Help!

I'm doing some DIY paint on my car. Granted, I'm doing it on plastic surfaces, but I've gotten pretty good with filling in deep scratches. The paint from Paintscratch.com is dead on and you will be more than happy with the results. I would recommend you try them out if you're going to paint it. With your VIN number, they'll match it precisely and if you read their FAQ section, then you'll get alot of helpful info on how best to tackle this problem.

Do it right man, if you're too poor to go to a body shop, then at least consider doing it yourself, you'll learn a great deal and take more pride in it. Keep your Prelude sticker free!

For some more background info on painting, I'm doing alot of updates on my build thread listed in my sig. Visit it and look at the second to last page and the last page on what I've been doing.
