Leather Seats?

I have seen alot of ludes on the site that have beautiful leather interiors...besides having them custom done, are they just those leather seat covers, or are they actual leather Honda seats?

Some preludes come with actual leather interior.
There is a 97 for sale by me for 3500 CAD with leather interior, i wanted to buy it and part out the rest of the car. :( I just dont have the time, space or money to spend yet :(

Re: Leather Seats?

My car came from factory with leather. But you can buy fitted leather seat covers. Search for threads by ogsmackdade, he bought a set not long ago.

Re: Leather Seats?

Those Type-S leather and suede look so nice IrishLuder, I want that in my lude! I know you CAN buy leather cover on ebay and other place's...our stock cloth is only covers (covering the foam) and I am under the impression you can remove the cloth and install the leather with no problem Ndforspeed...although when I was thinking about it I realized that my foam is getting limp and not supportive anymore so I think I am going to get some S2000 seat and install some Prelude rails...when I get my S2000 steering wheel :]

Cheers...PreludeZone.com ROCKS!!!

Re: Leather Seats?

some are leather and suede, some are leather and cloth.

they are a direct swap.

you will however lose the tilt on your drivers side, being that JDM cars are RHD.

Re: Leather Seats?

could you somehow make it so that you can put the RHD driver's seat onto the driver's side for LHD so you don't lose your tilt?

no, it would be on the side closest to the console and would not be accessable.

You could however peel the leather covers off the JDM seat and recover your drivers seat. that way you'd have two seats w/ tilt and lumbar. god damnit now I have to do this.

Re: Leather Seats?

the seats are exactly the same accept the tilt and lumbar features are on the right seat for the JDM cars. No one said rip. the seat unbolts, the hogrings get unbent and the fabric peels off without damage. If you want something that hasn't been made, you must make it yourself.

Agreed. If you want leather, take your car to a place that installs leather. It's a lot of work involved and you need to have special tools for the job. If you attempt to do it yourself you could end up with wrinkles everywhere.

I had mine done at a shop by a friend who's been doing it for about 9 years. When I saw what was involved I understood the cost justification.

this is why I haven't finished mine. I need hogring pliers and some nylon strips to sew to the seams in order to not have wrinkles. I will make these things look great eventually.

My buddy cut the nylon strips of the cloth seats and used them with the leather. For some reason they didn't come with them.

mine were the same way. my cloth is flawless, and I didn't want to ruin it. I'm still searching for the right material. I will finish these seats.
