Icon5 Shifter Boot

Hey All, I have a USDM '97 Prelude base and I have a weighted shift knob on it...my question is what shifter boot can I buy to replace the stock one that has a plastic adapter for the stock shift knob.

http://s252.photobucket.com/albums/h...t=IMG_0345.jpg

In my friends Acura Integra the stock shifter boot is just a circle that suspends just under the stock shift knob and doesn't click in to the bottom of the knob itself like mine DOES. So when I install the aftermarket weighted knob there is a plastic adapter that has no where to go...please help with any idea....Cheers, PreludeZone.com ROCK!!!

Re: Shifter Boot

I'd just raise up the console and fold the top of a boot a small bit and use a zip tie on the underside.
But that's just me.

Re: Shifter Boot

The only thing I could think of was to order an Integra shifter boot and try to make it fit...I just don't know if it will "click in" under the console. The top of the boot in the Integra is the exact thing I want it to be, a little black circle piece that's made to just sit there. I just hate that "chrome" plastic adapter thing...the fake chrome it coming off and it cuts my hand when I shift.

I also saw after market shifter boots but I don't want red, yellow, purple stitching...I just want a black shifter boot that's doesn't have that plastic crap.

Re: Shifter Boot

www.redlinegoods.com might be what you want then. They got top notch stuff, and it's real leather and you choose the colors, stitching, etc.

I know what you mean about the cut hands. Mine is doing the same thing now.

Sweet man...it looks like they make correctly installing pieces...I mean car specific pieces. I will have to give them a call.

Cheers!

Re: Shifter Boot

Here is a pic of my redline goods shiftboot w/ the type S knob and OEM locking ring.

Before I got knob I had a skunk 2 knob with a smaller ring. It was ziptied. It looked very clean. About an inch of the shifter shown, but it looked pretty good.
