Icon5 5th Gen Cabin Filter Location?

I searched this topic, but came up empty handed... I've been told the filter is located behind the glove box. Just need some sort of idea as to how to get at it. I've already dropped the glove box and I'm looking at what looks like 2 plastic distribution boxes. Any help appreciated.

Thanks, V1

Re: 5th Gen Cabin Filter Location?

Depends on what year your car is. 97 and 98 didn't have one.

Re: 5th Gen Cabin Filter Location?

In that case then every other Honda I've worked with that had them, it was behind the glove box. My dad has a 99 and he's at work right now so I can't go check his out since mine's a 98.

Re: 5th Gen Cabin Filter Location?

Cool. You'd think the 1999 and 2000 should be the same. Gonna check the lame FSM on CD to see if I can figure anything out. If yoiu get to talk to your Dad and can ask him what I need to disassemble, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Re: 5th Gen Cabin Filter Location?

He won't be in till 8:00 tonight.
99 and 00 would be the same. H-T search is down so I can't find anything there. My best advice is find an online manual and see what it says.

Re: 5th Gen Cabin Filter Location?

Above picture is correct. You see that plastic bar that is going horizontally across once you have dropped the glove box? You have to cut that and just pull out the filter. Easy as pie... or arby's

Re: 5th Gen Cabin Filter Location?

Once you cut the "Glove Box Bar" what do you do with it? Does it have to be there? Or do you splice it back in with fabbed sheet metal? The filter replacement looks pretty straight forward. I just figured it's a Hepa type filter, 9 years old and 95k miles later, thought it would be a good idea seeing how its never been changed.
