Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

Hi, this might be a stupid question but whatever.

I was wondering on a Prelude Type SH with a wingswest kit would a full catback N1 exhaust melt the rear lip or no?

Re: Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

unless the lip isn't made out of paper or gasoline, you'll be fine.l

Re: Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

I've been hearing it does and it doesn't. I wouldn't want to melt my rear lip due to the exhaust. Because the canister is huge, and I love the deep sound but running low on money. So the Apexi N1 is the cheapest exhaust I can get. Full catback for 180 =) I got a hoookup =)

Re: Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

as longs as it is installed correctly it will not melt the lip. that is why there is a cut out in the lip. and althought the N1 tip is like a watermelon cannon it'll still clear.

Re: Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

btw, the N1 is not a deep sounding exhaust. its very loud and raspy, gives me a headache every time i hear it.

Re: Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

Well, for a cheap exhaust, wouldn't you take it? If I had the money to buy a greddy sp2 or mugen catback or tanabe hyper medallion then I would lol. But that ranges from 500-1000

Re: Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

nope, i wouldn't. cuz i HATE the way they sound. it sounds like the stereotypical loudass civic fartcan that everyone laughs and makes fun of.

or maybe its just my mentality of "you get what you pay for."

Or you could sell the N1 at full price and get one of those...

Re: Question on Exhausts on Prelude Type SH

Few things here that i figured I'd touch on...

My N1 "style" exhaust with silencer sounds awesome. But only with the silencer. It doesn't actually silence almost at all, but it takes away the raspyness. If thats a word ...

I cannot personally see what the WW kit and apexi muffler will look like once its installed, but a buddy of mine had a 95 accord and his muffler sat against his rear lip and it did in fact, melt it. It wasn't bad, but you could definitely tell if you got up close. If the exhaust sits on the lip, then yes it'll melt. I've seen it happen. If it does, you can pay an exhaust shop 5-10 bucks to make the hanger longer and it'll set it down a half inch or so off of your lip/bumper and bam! you don't gotta worry bout it no more.
