Need Help from you guys!!!

First of all my car and spec!!!

98 Honda Prelude, Type SH

Cold air Intake W/ (K & N filter)
Megan Headers
Megan Downpipe
Greddy Evo II Catback Exhaust System
Spoon Test Pipe W/ O2 extension ( no ecu code )
(Brand New) OEM NGK Laser Platinum Spark Plugs ($13 a piece!!!!)
(Brand New) NAPA Premium Spark Plug Wires (good wires)
(Brand New) Napa Distributor Cap (Japan Made)
(Brand New) Napa Rotor

These are all the setups I have for my engine modifications.

Alright down to my problem!!
My engine has been vibrating or shaking i should say!!!
H22A4 has been shaking to the point where It's going to die.

Dont be surprise cause it did!!! everytime i turn the steering wheel left or right all the way to lock the steering wheel, the engine dies!!!!

I made a U-Turn and my engine died right when i turned the wheel all the way. this is really frustrating me!!!

My RPM is at 800 on normal idle. but when i put a load on the engine like rolling up the windows or turning the steering wheel all the way, the rpm goes low to 1000rpm and even dies!!!

But the thing is that i can start the engine right back up with no problems...
ok i am also running a 1000W amp pushing two 500w subs!!! with no capacitor!!! im planning to get one soon cause my lights are dimming when i roll up the windows and my music cuts off for about 1 minute everytime when i put the music loud.

so there you have it!!! Hope this is enough information for you guys to help
me solve my motor issue..

Here are some of my thoughts it could be!!!
Alternator?
Battery?? I dont think so, Brand New last year. (Die Hard Batt)
1000w Alpine Amp sucking all the power? (need a capacitor!)
Power Steering Pump?? PS Belt???

Ive cleaned out my IAC.
Timing belt change 4 months ago!! ( but this issue just started 1 month ago)
Cleaned out my EGR Valve

Dont know the issue!!! You guys are my only hope or its off to the honda dealer for a big estimate!!

Re: Need Help from you guys!!!

sounds alot like your alternator. you need to get an alternator test done to see if its putting out enough juice. if to too many amps are trying to be pulled from the alternator it will just cause the engine to cut off.

ive done it to cars with a manual load tester

i kind of had the same problem but mine never turned off on me but when i turned the sterring wheele slightley left or right at an ideling state my car would shake but i but my car never shook until i messed around with the main eletrical harness bc i was puttin on my front strut bar and in order to put it on i had to adjust it slightley and for some reasont hat caused my car to do that but i would get an altenator test like the one guy said under me i will probably do the same as well

Re: Need Help from you guys!!!

your problem is too much load on the engine!, mainly coming from your hungry power sucking amp. i say remove your inline fuse and see if your car still dies. you might just need a higher rating amp to help your power consumption.

Re: Need Help from you guys!!!

Yeah very clean!! Yeah its more than likely you alt is going out. When you have a high power amp, it will destroy it.

Check the grounds to make sure they're clean and fully connected.

Try getting the cheap stock NGK plugs (like $2/piece).... I don't think the platinums are all they're cracked up to be for these cars... but we all know opinions are like 's...everyone has one

You said your car idles at 800, but when you put a load on it it drops to 1000 and dies....
Could you explain this a little please, maybe i have it confused.. :noidea:

Does your battery light ever come on before the car dies??

The reason your system cuts off when you turn it up loud, is because u r over powering the amp. Turn the power level on the amp down, like an 1/8th of a turn. Judging by what you're saying, that it only cuts out for a minute tells me the amp is turned up slightly too much. Just turn it down just a little...

Kind of.... this actually has very little to do with the gain control on the amplifier.... the audio amplifier requires a determined amount of current, and voltage, to perform to manufacturers specifications. IF, when you turn up the "bump," and your bass cuts out, this is because you are not suppling the power it needs to operate. ANY standard "12 volt" electronic device IS DESIGNED to operate within a range of voltages.. which is aproximately 11.5 to 14.5 Volts. They do this because a car alternator does NOT put out a consistent voltage at any given time. And thats ok.. it is designed this way. And hence the reason you will see guys revving up their engines when they are competeing. OBVIOUSLY the more current/voltage you supply the amplifier, up to its maximum capacity, the better and "stronger" the amplifer will perform.

OK.... with that long winded explanation out of the way.... DO do what everyone on here is suggesting. Take your alternator in and have it load tested. MAKE sure it can put out the required current for all your electrical needs. If it is a stock alternator, aprox 80 Amps, you may need to upgrade or have your current one re-wound to produce a higher output.

Adding a Capacitor will NOT be beneficial to your system, it is actually more a drain on your charging system. IF you want to spend that $120 (after buying a new alt) then purchase some 4, 2 or 1/0 AWG wire and do the Big Three. Check out the pinned topic in the DIY section, "Understanding The Basics." for more info.

Hope some of that helps.
