Is This Right Guys?

Got a question about my power door locks. From the driver side the unlock/lock button only controls the passenger lock and will not control the driver side lock. If I want to unlock the driver side door from the indide I have to do it by hand. And the passenger side lock button only controls the passenger side locks. What im tryin to say is that no button will unlock/lock the driver side lock unless u do it yourself. Is this right? (Sorry for the confusion)

Re: Is This Right Guys?

something is wrong with your switch. the drivers side switch should unlock the drivers side door and the passengers side door.

Or perhaps the wiring?
If you can find out what wires are going to the locks themselves, locate them down by the kick panel on the passenger side, and by the fuse box on the driver site. and using a multi meter you can determine if the power is still flowing when you press the button.

Something like that may help too but that is a more in depth search.

Re: Is This Right Guys?

take your door panel off and check for loose wires and/ or if anything is broken or not in the correct spot. mine was doing the same thing but on the passenger side but i replaced my battery and it helped. like to wasnt getting enough juice or something

Re: Is This Right Guys?

In my car the drivers door locks and unlocks itself and the passenger door.

But the passenger door only locks and unlocks itself, it doesn't affect the drivers door.

Re: Is This Right Guys?

Your lock motor could be bad as well. If you wanna check your wiring it is a switched ground meaning it rests at 12v and when you use the switch it goes to ground. I would bank on a bad motor though.
