Ummm trAnsmission? Problem.

This morning I turned my car on As normal. It started and I let my car warm up. When I was ready to go I pushedmy clutch in and it felt really weak. I barely felt any pressure back at my feet. But the wierder thing was I couldn't go into any gear. It Is also freezing here. Because my hair froze. I don't know what gas happened. I checked my oil too.

clutch slave and/or master cylinder.

take a flashlight and peer behind the clutch pedal area. Is it greasy around the pedal(s)?

Re: Ummm trAnsmission? Problem.

Okay so there is greasy stuff all over the pedal and above the clutch pedal so i am guessing it is the master cylinder. and yes it is freezing.

Any hints on how i should get it repaired. i am about to start researching. Can i do it myself? or better left to have a mechanic do it?.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Ummm trAnsmission? Problem.

You need a replacement master cylinder...the job is not that bad, it's tedious if anything plus this cold weather makes working on anything outside miserable. You must adjust your clutch pedal after an installation of a master cylinder because it'll be out of adjustment resulting in a high clutch pedal/more travel than before:
Interior Clutch Pedal Adjustment
