Help with exhaust and hi flow cat.

I'm getting a good deal on both a carsound hi flow cat and a greddy ti-c exhaust.

I just want to know what I need to make these fit.

The cat has an inlet and outlet diameter of 2.25". I've read that the prelude stock header is only 2". I don't know what size the exhaust is. (I've read greddys have 3" inlet.) Well anyways, assuming the greddy is not going to be 2.5" will I have problems connecting it to the cat? The cat has no flanges so I know I will have to get them welded.

So starting from the beginning 2" to 2.25" to 3".

What do I need to do to make these fit?

I have read all over the prelude forums and read somthing about a collector mod and I have no idea what that is or does.

I'm really noob to this stuff. I drew a picture to show everyone what i'm talking about. If anyone can re-edit this picture of how I should do everything then that would be very helpful. Don't bash me cause I'm new.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with exhaust and hi flow cat.

welcome to the site. stop by the new member's section and introduce yourself and your lude.

now as for your question you will need an adapter welded in. they vary in sizes ie: 2" --> 2.25, and i've answered the collector mod question w/ a full diagram and description for Alex (OneRedLude). gimme a min or two and i'll go find that post of mine...

btw great diagram!!

EDIT: i'm almost 100% sure that Greddy System is 2.5"

Re: Help with exhaust and hi flow cat.

okay i'm back... lol

correction to original post. it was for dk1090 that i posted the below info...

megan header is 4-2-1. you chop the down pipe where the 2 turns to 1 and weld in a 2.5" flex pipe (can be bought anywhere) than weld to your cat or get a flange and bolt it up. really easy mod. sounds more complex than it is.

here is a pic of my lude:
first arrow is the chop and weld of the 2 to 1
yellow circle is o2 bung. don't forget to weld that back in
second arrow is where collector is welded to straight pipe thats welded to cat

Hope It Helps

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT. PM ME W/ ANY QUESTIONS. AND PLEASE UTILIZE THE SEARCH FEATURE ON THE SITE. THAT'S HOW I FOUND THAT POST! LOL.

u should be able to get the adapters from any exhaust shop. might even be able to find em at AutoZone or Pep Boys. and the collector mod should be done when you replace your stock header. it is for optimal air flow. opens the lude up real nice. you can get a nice Megan Racing header on eBay shipped to your house for about $150-$175
