Sirius Hook-up to Factory Radio

Are there any aux. RCA out jacks in the back of the factory radio chasis? Sure would make hooking up this Sirius Stratus 4 alot simplier. Is there a way to activate an "Aux" section of the factory radio?

If not, guess I'll just have to use the direct antenna plug-in block for the strongest broadcast signal through the factory radio. Just figured the Aux and the RCA's would make for cleaner installation and better sound quality.

Appreciate any pointers from you fellow Luders who have been down this road.

Thanks, V1

Well guess what....you are out of luck on RCA inputs on the OEM head unit.
You will need to get an FM Modulator. Yes I know it sucks, but you can do it that way
and run it from an FM frequency, or get an aftermarket head unit with the RCA inputs.

Hate to say it, but those are your only two options.

Re: Sirius Hook-up to Factory Radio

Kinda what I thought. I have the plug in antenna box that goes between the head unit and the Sirius recv'r. as well as the hard wired power supply so you don't have to power it with the cig lighter. Should all hide nicely inside the console under the dash. The least of my worries.

All I need now is a place to mount the Sirius recv'r. Space is limited in these Ludes...

JayKnight, thanks for your reply and help.

Re: Sirius Hook-up to Factory Radio

Well I don't know which unit you have, but here is what I did with my XM Commander.
Well just one more bit of FYI....Sirius and XM have merged, so keep that in mind. Just in
case you did not know already.

Well here you go....took me about 8 hours to get the shape right, then another hour to do the texture to make it look OEM....

And yes.....that is the OEM bezel I used to create the shape to mount the controller to. I just used the bezel from the XM and shaped it to hang down from the dome light bezel.
Simple supplies used....a small piece of ABS plastic, and some bondo for the shaping, then some texturized paint.
