Re: shifting problems

sounds like stretched cables.
If theres more slack, it wont be so precise when you go to jam it into gear.

Have you tried/looked into zip-tying the cables every couple inches??

Some ppl say this works and helps the shifter feel firmer....

Re: shifting problems

Yeah, I am pretty sure an accord shift cable works and if it does than people say it makes the shifting alot easier.

But I could be mistaken, someone back me up here.

Re: shifting problems

You should take the console off and make sure the cable is secured to the shifter itself.

I noticed last night when I was driving, that when it gets cold out, below 60's, my shifter gets alot sloppier and it felt like the gear wasn't where it usually is. Since I don't have a shift boot on mine, i figured out the attachment point where the cable actually mounts to the shifter, is where the slop is at.

I guess the bolt just doesn't hold the metal against the cable end when its too cold out.

Re: shifting problems

if your cable IS secured to the shifter.

Zip tying your shifter cables together, every few inches might help take some of the slop out.
