Hello all.
I picked up a torque damper for the motor. Wondering if anybody has pics of one installed or could shoot me installation directions. I'm curious where the mount brackets bolt to and how you set the damper preload, dimension or pressure for proper effectiveness. Unfortunately when I got mine there were no instructions.

Would really appreaciate some help with this.

Thanks, V1

Re: 5th gen Vtec Motor Torque Damper Install

It's a red anodized "No Name" ebay buy with just 2 brackets.

The small bracket has (2) holes, one that mounts the mount and the other that bolts the damper to it and the bigger bracket has (3) holes in it. 2 to mount the bracket itself and 1 for the other end of the damper.

Couldn't believe it when I opened the box and no instructions. I called 4caroption and talked to their tech and he told me because they are sold in "Jobber volume" at discount prices, most of the people who purchase them already know how to install them. (Great....no help).

I'm more concerned about how to properly set the preload for the proper dampening affect.

I really appreciate any pics or instructions / help you can provide.

Thanks, V1

Re: 5th gen Vtec Motor Torque Damper Install

Internet search and contact with the supplier has been no help at all. Will be grateful and indebted to you if you can send me the pics. of your install at your earliest convienience. I've got some maintenance scheduled and plan to attempt to install the damper at that time.

Thanks for your help.

Re: 5th gen Vtec Motor Torque Damper Install

k i got some pics of mine(also the ebay one).the bigger braket mounts to the engine mount on the driver side of the car.the smaller one is alittle annoying to put on,as you have to take the driver side wheel off to replace a bolt.you have to take the right upper control arm bolt out and replace it with the long bolt supplied with your dampner kit.with the longer bolt you now have threads to secure the smaller mount.after that just mount the dampner in place.here are some pics,i hope that kind of helped.
