Tranny is dying!!!

Hey ladies...Been awhile since ive been on here...But what a better way to begin my "comeback" than to say that my tranny is now dying...Its done, slipping through gears, and I mean its the worst auto ever built to my knowledge...Anyway, I am now enroute to begin a 5spd swap...Couple questions I must ask...Should I go with the H22a tranny, or the F22a tranny??? I dont plan to go FI anytime soon if that matters...Also, what price will encounter??? And where can I find a 5spd, with all the necessary parts to do a swap??? Any suggestions and helpful comments are greatly appreciated...

Re: Tranny is dying!!!

I think it would be better if a nice list of things could be provided that is needed for a successful swap...

No. To my knowledge the ecu I have can still be used for the swap.

Re: Tranny is dying!!!

My auto ecu worked but gave me a fluctuating bouncy idle.

Re: Tranny is dying!!!

the auto will work... I *think* they can throw a code, but you can also have the auto disabled by someone who knows more about it than me. I ran my h22a on a auto p13 (with auto eliminated) until I got my p28... si96Lude is still using that p13 as far as I know...

Re: Tranny is dying!!!

yeah...well this is what i need to get as far as i know...The transmission, the half shaft, the shift linkage assembly, the brake and clutch assembly....is there anything that im missing??? Shouldnt the starter, VSS, clutch dampener, and all that come with the tranny??? I may end up getting the ECU anyway...And is $1500 good for a tranny, half shaft and ecu??? Sounds high to me...

Re: Tranny is dying!!!

well there is just a flex plate on autos and that is alot thinner than the flywheel.

so either way you need the longer bolts if you want to do the swap... i think i have some to be honest with you

Re: Tranny is dying!!!

i need to find the tranny itself first, then the other small parts to add to it...cuz some tranny's being sold say they include the slave cylinder, and dampener, starter, clutch master cylinder, and VSS...But some dont say anything...So when I get the tranny, Ill see what exactly I need to buy like the things mentioned above, in addition to the pedals, speedo, shift linkage assembly, and the flywheel and clutch if its not to expensive to add to my price range....
