Re: grrr

And that's reason why I'm glad I don't have a black lude anymore. But when it's clean and waxed it looks badass. Don't feel bad though bc my ****'s faded on the hood, roof(have the sunvisor mark too), driver fender, and driver quarter panel.

^ I find that kind of hard to believe. Isn't there supposed to be paper work involved stating what's being done, price quote, etc...?

Re: grrr

my car is black, when its clean and waxed, fukin shawwp lookin, but when its not.........

-the passanger side of the car is riddled with small door dents because whoever owned this tang before me, obviously liked to park alittle far to the right in the parking spots.
-there are random series scratches across the trunk lid and roof somehow
-my front right fender is just f"d looking because of when my tire detreaded and kicked it out of place.
-the paint is not fading, but there are just so many scratches and dings, plus someone who had this before me seemed to wash it with an SOS pad, because there are swirl marks all over this thing.

Def. a good idea to wax you car at least one time a year. My car is in the garage all day until I get home but by then the sun is not as strong. it never sees salt, snow or even rain. LOL I wax it the spring and try to do before I lock it up for the winter. I have the original paint as I am also the original owner. (I bought my lude brand new in 01 I have a little over 38K) This April will be 8 years I owned it and the paint still looks good. You have to put the time, work and effort to keep the paint good. If you don't you pay money out of your a$$ to paint your whole car.

Re: grrr

I know how you feel with the black ludes....While mine is white, the camaro I had before was black. That thing was so hard to keep clean, and I washed it once or twice a week, waxed it once every month or two. No that I have a white car in the city (Seattle) the paint gets trashed worse. F*ck people who cant parallel park, my car gets a new dent like every week.

The other day at folding sign fell into my car because of wind..it was painted red and left a 5" red dent/streak on my passenger door..a taxi must have rear-ended my parking because I now have yellow paint on my bumper, the list goes on.

But isn't it worth all the sh!t in the end when you just finish washing it and take it out for a spin?

Re: grrr

I was fortunate enough because the previous owner who worked for honda had mine repainted the factory EBP color. I don't know how much he paid or how much he should have paid but I'm glad I didnt have too. I now get it waxed about once every 2-3 months. As soon as the rainwater stops beading up on her. The wax also allows dust and pollen to blow off much easier as soon as you get moving. In my opinion, a fresh paint job is a ridiculously good investment. She has a natural shine, I always get a ton of compliments and the value is still very very good. My97Prelude, if you feel that strongly, I would say get some quotes and save up for it. You will be glad you did in the long run. Just make sure you get it done at a legit shop.

^^^ Agreed..And just like they said above, you dont have to go with maaco, but you don't have to spend $6 grand on a paint job either. Go with a reputable shop at a price you are comfortable with and can afford. I am sure someone on this forum has input on a shop in Kansas near you somewhere.
