Next step for my lude?

hey guys i thought id ask your opinion
pretty much im going to stay N/A until when getting a s/c is financially alright
but i want to continue building onto my h22 but not sure what do do from here on in.
i have a aem cold air intake. dc sports header and megan racing 2.25' exhaust..
iv been told the next step would be skunk2 stage2 cams, a vafc and a tune to get the power out of my bolt ons.. if anyone can give me some insight as to what to do next that would be great

ps iv been thinking of going to a 2.5/3 inch exhaust and a better header but it seems counter-productive to me?

EDIT: thank you mods :)

Re: Next step for my lude?

Well if you plan on going F/I later on, then fitting a slightly larger bore exhaust system now would be prudent. It may result in a bit of a lag now, but in the long run it's the smart thing to do. The DC header isn't the best thing in the world, so that would be a good thing to upgrade as well. Though prepare to spend big $$$.

Again, since you plan on going F/I then the vafc would really be a waste of time. A vafc is a good tuning tool don't get me wrong, but in a forced induction application (such as your supercharger) then you'll really need more tuning ability than is available in a vafc. Is your car fitted with ATTS? If yes, do you wish to keep it? If those two answers were "yes" then a piggyback is all you can use, so an AFC Neo or a GReddy Emanage would be good options.

So I've established that a full replacement ECU is the way I think you'd need to take. Hondata is the obvious choice, however do the research and find out whether or not a eCtune, Neptune RTP, Chrome, et al aren't a better product. This is an area where I have done pretty much no research on since if/when I get my car tuned properlly it will be with a Neo.

Stage 2 cams would be a good start, however they may make the car a bit hard to drive when it comes to low down torque. Again, this is something I've not researched a lot, so can't help you much. The S2 cams would def be a good thing with the supercharger I would think. have a look around, this sort of thing has been covered a fair bit under the Forced Induction area of the forum.

Re: Next step for my lude?

another thing with stage 2 cams is that you have to upgrade your valvetrain as well, new retainers, dual valve springs and valves. also be sure to get a set of adjustable cam gears to make tuning the motor that much more precise.
