PRO KIT W/ KYB GR2'S OR TOKICO BLUES ??

i have searched endlessly in several forums, and have not yet found anything useful...sorry if this information has been already posted, if so i must not be efficient enough in using the 'search' function..

its for my daily driver, no plans for tracking whatsoever..just looking to clear some fender room, improve handling and cornering..i was looking at the KYB GR2's but i've got nothing but mixed reviews..would they be good for the pro kit springs' approx 1.3 drop? if so will they last this way for more than a year or will i have to eventually replace?? i mention this b/c i cant seem to get a clear response anywhere if they are to be used w/ lowering springs, or if they're not...since they are "OEM stock replacements"..

as for the tokico blues, of course they are also meant to be used w/ lowering springs, but is there a significant difference of quality between these and the KYB's??? considering the price differential between both (tokicos costing a little more)??

i guess i need to know if its worth saving up the extra cash to go for the tokico's or if i'll find close to similar quality in the KYB's (and durability) and spend less..

Re: PRO KIT W/ KYB GR2'S OR TOKICO BLUES ??

tokico illuminas and kyb agx's are more expensive because of the stiff adjustment they have. you can adjust thier stiffness on top of each strut. Best for track setups. Tokico HP's(blues) and kyb gr2's are just proformance gas struts to pair with your lowering springs or coilovers.

Old, but still useful. H&R Sport Springs (similar to Pro Kit) with GR2's on 17's

thanks for the info guys..

so the GR2's can be paired with lowering springs w/o a prob..

should i bother spending the xtra $$$ for the tokico blues then or will i be fine with the GR2's..i dont want to spend extra $$$ if i dont need to!!!

Re: PRO KIT W/ KYB GR2'S OR TOKICO BLUES ??

that depends on what you want, do you want adjustability in stiffness? if not than just go with the gr2's.

Re: PRO KIT W/ KYB GR2'S OR TOKICO BLUES ??

na, i dont think i need adjustability..but if i understand correctly the tokico blues dont offer adjustment. maybe you're referring to the illuminas? which if thats the case, illuminas are not one of the options i'm looking into..

so no major diff between blues and gr2's......??? can someone please advise..

Re: PRO KIT W/ KYB GR2'S OR TOKICO BLUES ??

my bad you're right for some reason i thought blue's were adjustable.

i have heard that the blues give a soft ride quality. do you plan on just cruising or tearing it up every once in awhile at the twisties?

ehhhh for the most part just cruisin...but of course tearin it up every now and then..its inevitable lol

so the blues softer than the gr2's?? meaning smoother ride? bouncier?
any advantages/disadvantages w/ the gr2's??

Re: PRO KIT W/ KYB GR2'S OR TOKICO BLUES ??

definatly the gr2 over tokico blues anyday IMO..i had the tokico blues on my previous 5th gen...and i absolutley hated them..they were too soft and bounced like fcuk...the rear end even swung out on me once when i was going around a roundabout.
