Re: 18 rims..... ?

what kind of wheels are they? name and model. i would stay away from 18's. 17's or smaller are much better, trust me i have been there before. and how much lowered?

Re: 18 rims..... ?

Well the car is eucaliptus green pearl, so not many rims would look good except silver. I was either thinkin 18's and a front lip, or i could go "jdm look" and do 16" rota gt-3s gold spoke polished lip and cf hood and cf lip. and do the yellow tint on the fog lights. Do you think that would be a good look for my car?

Re: 18 rims..... ?

yeah that would look good too, OEM~KaoS has that color with gold wheels and it looks really good. oh another word of advice, if you do alot of city driving than i would not recommend that cf lip.

EDIT: Heres a pic of his car.

Re: 18 rims..... ?

I live in madison wiscnosin, nothing but speed bumps and steep driveways lol. Parking on the street is a small price to pay for looking good tho =] Know anything about diong a manual swap? slap stick sucks balls. Cant complain for only paying $4k for a 215hp lude tho.

Re: 18 rims..... ?

Rebuilt engine, aem intake, dc header, greddy evo2 exhaust, highflow cat(hollowed haha), skunk2 intake mani, larger TB and spacer, aem pullys, Skunk2 cam gears, 10mm spark wires, and different distributor and coil (forget brand) Also has full suspension but not lowered yet. How do you think 16" rota boost in flat black with red stripe would look with the "jdm" set up?

ALSO: Could i do a manny swap with a tranny out of an f22 accord?

not tryin to be a dick but i highly doubt you have 215whp with that setup. im not real sure if you can, but why would you want to. the h22 tranny will give you better acceleration.

Re: 18 rims..... ?

try to stay in between 15 and 17 if your looking for a nice ride, if your going purely looks, your gonna have to mod some stuff to make them fit, you will get a rub somewhere or in sum situation.

Re: 18 rims..... ?

Just askin cuz i can get a full f22 tranny set up for dirt cheap, if not for free. 215 was a guesstimate cuz i was doin research on preludes with similar set ups and they said they were makin 215. It has the sh motor, but who knows. Maybe you would have a more accurate figure? Either way the car is pretty quick. Also got an opinion on doin the 16" boost with red stripe?

Re: 18 rims..... ?

they come with 200hp to the flywheel stock which puts you around 170 to the wheels. all of the 5th gens came with the VTEC motor. the only upgrade you could swap would be a type s h22.

Re: 18 rims..... ?

also, remember when rating or guesstemating horsepower, take into account that the factory specs say 200hp stock or 190 stock, that does not include all the pulleys and power diffs the engergy or (hp) has to go through before it gets to the wheels. just a titi bit

Re: 18 rims..... ?

So 170 stock to the wheels, and my abundant list of mods i only gain 10hp? not to be a dousche cuz i admit im kinda retarded to the honda world... but that doesnt seem right.

Re: 18 rims..... ?

you have all bolt ons and the dc header sucks, its worse than a stock header in most cases. and the skunk2 im is not that great for na applications it shines in boosted apps. you dont have any real motor work done, no internals (higher comp. pistons, upgraded valvetrain for example). did you get it tuned after installing all of this stuff?

Re: 18 rims..... ?

It also has the apexi VAFC. I bought it from the guy who owns skunk motorsports in madison, highly known in the area so i trust it was tuned. I was gonna boost it cuz i picked up a turbo kit from some old giezer for $100 bucks but it turned out to be a no name and i sold it for $300. Hahahahahahaha. why is the dc header worse than stock?

Re: 18 rims..... ?

its the same exact size as the stock honda one the only difference is that you can get it in ss or ceramic. dc put absolutely no r&d into that header. the stock honda header is better quality imo. did you ask the guy if he tuned the vafc? it doesnt come tuned out of the box. he would have to tune it on the car to get the best power out of it.

Re: 18 rims..... ?

what does the rebuild consist of?

a boatload of modifications wont do a damn thing without changing the fuel and ignition parameters. Changing the intake manifold, intake, throttle and other assorted things change how the engine breathes dynamically. You cant just bolt things on your car and really expect to make much more hp, unless its a "bolt on" turbo kit or a nitrous kit. And either one of those still require tuning.
