My before and after paint job...(pics coming)

I decided to get my car painted. I chose to go to maaco. I didn't get that cheap paint job that will fade away in a couple of months. I chose the presidential package which is 399.95. I also added a clear coat. I got the stock side and rear moldings painted as well (free of charge).
I dont have pics of my car with the awesome fresh paint job due to crappy rainy weather here in jersey. Here are pics of it before so you have an idea.

Flaws that are noticeable
1) Hood has rock hits from highway driving (previous owner)
2) Roof is faded very badly
3) Side window molds are cracked and peeling
4) Most of rear side of car is faded
5) Rust in trunk area (I didnt pay extra 150 for repairing it)
6) Hood has clearcoat peeling off
7) Wing is faded

Overall the final product was much much better than I expected. I like it very much. Sorry I dont have pics of the final product. I will get them up asap.

Pics before

hey man, im from jersey as well. i was looking for places to get my car redone and was wondering if maaco took care of any rust spots you might of had on your car or did you have to take care of them before hand? also they are reasonable on price and do good work i take it?

Re: My before and after paint job...(pics coming)

The major rust spot on my car was just the trunk area. In the pics, it might be hard to see, but there are some small rust spots on the trunk. To make it 100% perfect, I would have had to pay another 150.00 for them to cut the rust out and weld a new piece on there. So I figured that I wouldnt pay that much for the job, so I just let them try there best to sand it down. It didnt come out too bad, but if you want the rust completely gone, be ready to shed out more money.
There was some deep marks on my hood from those highway road rocks, they sanded it down beautifully and I can barely see them anymore.
They are great for the price, but from what I have seen and read, just dont get that cheap promotion they are doing for 150.00 or something like that.
Their presidential paint job (the one I got) is on sale for 199.95 so that is a really good price. I dont plan on keeping the car for more
than two years, so I just got a decent priced paint job.

Re: My before and after paint job...(pics coming)

Sorry it took so long, for the pics up!
P.S.....my camera sucks so, it looks a lot better in person.
They charge another 75.00 to change the color of your paint (I dont know how much extra for pearl)
Im in cherry hill.

Enough of me yapping, here are the pics!

Overall, I'm very happy with the money I spent on a fairly good paint job. They sanded down the hood really good without messing with the flow of it. It wasn't really sunny so my pics wouldn't show the shine of the new paint. Sorry guys.

Thanks. Gun metal gray sounds good. Just remember to get the paint job that includes the inner door walls. I saw an escalade at maaco when I dropped off my car, the original color was pearl white. It got painted red; came out really nice. But when I saw one of the guys open the door, the inside was still white. It looked like ketchup and mayo.

Edit - i'll take more pics tomorrow when the weather is supposedly suppose to be sunny!

maaco will do some good work as long as you get the right job done. So how much as it all said and done, when i went up there it was going to be about 1500 but i was going to get the tops of the line one and 3 year warranty i think.

Re: My before and after paint job...(pics coming)

Total was 480.35, which isnt a bad price if you think about it.
The presidential paint job is 399.95 but was on sale for 199 which is a great deal. It has a 2 year warranty.
129.99 for their prep job which is sanding down and all that good stuff.
I also got another clear coat which was about 100.00, maybe even less, I'll look for my receipt.
I also paid an extra 20.00 for them to paint my window moldings since they were chipped.
They painted the rear and side skirts for free!

Yes, maaco did this paint job. They are a really good place to go, AS LONG AS you get the right work done and right paint job. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Thanks guys, it does look a lot better than before. The previous owner must have been leaving the car out in the sun all the time and driving on rocky highways everyday.

njfreekshow, it should look nice with the gun metal gray, some cops in nj will pull you over with some tints and give you tickets
