Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

It's been covered. Yes, I have them right now. Got them for free as a beta tester. Picked up 1mpg and the butt dyno tells me a few hp, but I wouldn't say they're worth $25 each

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

I dropped some NGK irridiums in my ride... money well spent for sure. My old NGK's were all crudy so it def picked up some top end... however I'm sure most of that gain was really just restorative vs. overall numbers being gained. Whoot just realized my JDM intake should be getting delivered today!!

Spark plugs can basically ONLY restore HP.

Getting a Type-S intake? I love mine

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

FTW indeed... aye a Type S intake although right after I made that post I checked Fedex and it was delayed :( so I'll be taking delivery on it sometime today hopefully. Love how its a direct swap and is still a factory part. I just replaced the air filter so that won't be all for not. Is there a particular filter that you would reccomend? I just got a cheapo STP filter b/c it was all I could find at the store by me.

Yea I suppose you're right a simple plug n play thing like fancy new plugs really couldn't make any substantial gain. If you went the next step with wires, coil, and distributor etc. then maybe so. I'm happy with the NGK Iridiums but realistically any proper NGK plug should be gravy. I just got them b/c they were on sale.

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

K&N's OEM replacement filter is the best you can get for the Type-S intake.

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

yea, NGK ftw. 94ludeguy was with me when i put the pulstars in and it was misfiring on cyl. 1 and threw a code for that. i wouldnt say "like crazy" hahaha but i contacted them and they emailed me back and said that they were havin issues with "quality control" and moved production in-house (which im sure is bull****) so anyways, they sent me out some new ones and im gonna put those in and try em out. if they are still doin the same thing, pulstar will refund my $$$ but the guy at honda advised against them and recommended the NGK's. so......

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

no.. accept ONLY NGK plugs from the seller. He shouldn't be selling things that are 'sold out'. Leave negative rep or request discount. Ngk plugs are the best quality plugs for any Honda. They just consistently work great in all applications.

EDIT: link to seller and product page?

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

thats a really silly point of view. I would expect someone Im paying for a product to treat me right now matter how big or small of a company they are. Otherwise, why deal with them at all?

Your throwing your money away on the Denso's. They arent what you paid for and certainly aren't an upgrade. I'd just get a refund and buy from another seller or elsewhere..

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

run the $2 copper ones. The $17 ones are nice, but you will never make up the cost difference and they dont give better MPG's from what Ive seen.

Re: Anyone tried Pulstar plugs?

Are there any gains to be had by doing high quality wires on an otherwise stock ignition system? I've got NGK Irridiums which gave me back the performance that was being lost to the old cruddy plugs she had in her, but I'm curious if I could get anything more from doing the wires too. An mpg gain would be well recieved too, looks like premium is gonna be heading north of $2 :( paying below a buck-eighty was pretty sweet for a spell there.
