Qwick Question(s)?

I got an OEM muffler to replace my N1, but i still have the n1 60 mm piping, will the OEM muffler bolt straight on to my current piping or would i have to get custom piping from the catback? How much does a shop usually charge to do this and would i still have to keep the resonator (i guess its called a resonator?) and would it still pass inspection if i took the resonator off?
Thanks a lot guys

Re: Qwick Question(s)?

i would say just chop off a couple extra inches off the N1 piping and weld up an adapter from the 60mm to what ever the stock muffler inlet is. to do that shouldn't be more than 50-100 bucks. its not even an hour of labor. that would be the cheapest and easiest way to do it. if you want a whole new pipe from the cat back, that could be pusing 200-250 or so would be my guess. i went and got a whole new exhaust welded up from the cat back when it rusted so bad it fell off the car when i was a stupid teenager. iirc i paid about 250 for it. of course i was a stupid teenager, i coulda been totally ripped off but i think thats a fair price. if you get just an adapter, you can still keep the resonator thats already on there but if you want to go the route of a whole new pipe from the cat back you can always request they weld up a resonator too. thats the beauty of the exhaust system, you can cut and paste as you please for a truely custom exhaust.

Re: Qwick Question(s)?

Yeah i have a custom exhaust on my lude with the stock muffler(actually sounds pleasant too), but when the shop i go to chopped off the aftermarket muffler i had and re-welded the oem one, they only charged me $40, not too bad imo, and as far as passing inspection, i've had no problems with that

Re: Qwick Question(s)?

Mine sounds better that way imo, the sound is there, but just not nearly as annoying as before
