Check engine light question

Got a check engine light a few weeks ago, got it deleted, then it came back on. I have to go back to autozone to get the codes again since I misplaced the paper. By the way, 97 automatic (yea...I know) lude. Just wondering if it is normal for the P and D4 to blink along with the check engine light once you start the car. I always shut the car off and turn it back on for it to go away. The check engine light is still there though.
My question is, does the P and D blink along with the check engine light for anybody else?

Re: Check engine light question

the blinking d4 light is from sensors that work in conjunction with the tranny. in other words yes it is normal for it to blink (when there is a problem)

Re: Check engine light question

LoL we totally should. I probably would have hit it last night, but I fell asleep yesterday at 4PM and just woke up at 7:30AM. I was a sleepy bear.

Anyway, back on topic. To the OP, is your car running in limp mode?

I've had my d4 light blinking at one time, got the tranny checked and it was fine, we found a vacuum hose off in the engine and reconnectedit then everything was fine lights went out

Re: Check engine light question

p0700=internal trans controller p0700 code means replaces your TCM
p1768=Problem in Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve B Circuit Comprehensive
p1773=dual solenoids (?)

So I did my research and these are what I came up with. Does anyone know more info on p1768 and p1773?
The only time the tranny has problems is when the car is first started and I drive regular. But when I drive the car cold with tiptronic, there is no problem with the transmission at all. Runs great with tiptronic...
Thanks for your help everyone.

Re: Check engine light question

Try not to drive your car too much in tiptronic mode, or at least don't down shift. I think either way your going to have to bring your car into a mechanic to have it looked at. Better soon then later.
