5th gen ignition switch

While driving my lude it will just randomly shut off with no warning. I rotate the ignition switch off- on and it starts rt up. i have been told by one person that this is a problem with the 5th gen and there is a recall on it from Honda. Is this true and is this the reason for this prob? If so do i just go to Honda and tell them to replace it and it is free? Sorry if this has been brought up already... I did a search but found nothing..Thanks

Re: 5th gen ignition switch

if you can't find it using our search try google but you are right the 5th gen did have an ignition prob.

from the sounds of it it could also be your altenator. do your lights dim or does the lude just shut down?

go to a HONDA dealer near you and see what they say about the dealer defect.

good luck

Re: 5th gen ignition switch

i know i took mine in for a recall with the ignition when i first got it...it was something about the car being able to take out the key when you shouldnt or something...i'd call up your local honda dealership or just google all the 5g recalls
