SH Parts Problems

So Yes i know about the suspension mod needed if you dont do a full swap
but what other parts are SH only

Headers... Intake, cams, gears, Clutch, fly wheel, brakes, rotors...
i tried looking i see alot of parts that say NON sh
then a part that say fits all but is the say type of part
Dont want to be like damn that dosent go there

Im going to do engine work and brake/suspension soon
that would help to know i tried to research but there is no clear line
Kinda new to the H22 motors
I was a B motor wiz stumpped here

Re: SH Parts Problems

When you get an idea what exactly you want to do then you'll find a bit more.

Many parts that state 'non-SH' work perfectly well on an SH. I know plenty of people who have bolted in the non SH exhaust header, the non SH springs and shocks, etc. And know of plenty more.

Radius rods are different on the SH...I think steering knuckles too.

Re: SH Parts Problems

The SH and the other 5th gen Preludes share the same motor, so engine parts are completely compatible between them all. Just so you know.

Acutally the sh block is different from the base because of the oil filter location.

Re: SH Parts Problems

And in addition to that, a base trans won't bolt up to a Sh without an adaptor plate, so there's something different there.

There's also some discussion as to the sh cams. Despite the fact that they have the same part number some believe that the sh had higher lift camshafts, so that the sh could still make the power claimed in the brochure despite having to drive the atts unit. Though until sombody gets brand new camshafts out of a box and measures them this will remain nothing but discussion.

Still uses the same filter though right? So technically I'm still right. Haha just messin' dude.

Street racing is a no-no.

You'll need a lot of work to beat an upgraded WRX. Serious work.

Re: SH Parts Problems

Ah yeah WRX, from the tree to about maybe 100 ft maybe less, its like wow I'm beating a turbo, then vvvvooorrruummm pppssst. Then all I saw was tail lights.

I wanted to go turbo for a while now, I looked into building my motor I started a budget for it, when the price got to around $7000 and still climbing for just the motor build I scratched it. Then I was just going to run a kit at 8psi then I learned on some guys on here that blew their motors even with some engine work done, its not worth it. So once my child support ends, and I win the lottery or get a better job then I'm getting the 08 EVO. Done deal

In the mean time I do have some plans to bulk up the ol Lude, valvetrain, clutch and flywheel, exhaust, suspension, maybe pull the head and get some work done. Maybe go a little higher on compression. I've been hearing alot about Type S pistons, so I'm studying. I'm in student mode once again.
