spark plug wires question

first time posting here.

i cleaned my engine this morning and stupidly got water into the spark plug wells. i managed to get the water out of the wells with a towel and long screw driver. Even drove the car to hopefully get any moisture to evaporate.

my spark plug wires don't sit in snuggly anymore. when i first pulled the spark plug wires off i felt it had some suction and tug to it. but now, the spark plugs boots can come off easily if i flick the wires. how do i get it to sit in snugly? is it supposed to click or am i supposed to twist it a certain way when i plug it in?

Re: spark plug wires question

Put your thumb in the middle part of the boot and press down and it should give you a little click

exactly, you gotta use a lil force to get them to snap back in there.

Re: spark plug wires question

Also make sure you "burp" the air out from each one...well actually there should be a little tiny hole at the top of each rubber cap for the air to escape.
