I need my car smogged.

Ok, i need to get my car smogged this November.
Anyone who lives in California knows how strict they are.
I have a cold air intake, and it wont pass smog.
I posted a couple adds for a stock air box, but no replys....
I was wondering if any other air box made by honda will fit in a 98 base.
And last but not least let me know if your selling yours =]

Re: I need my car smogged.

the smog official will check your after market parts for a e.o. (exemption order) sticker or badge. no sticker or badge = fail. there are places that will pass you without doing the visual, but they're starting to be a rarity around here. the state is cracking down on these shops.

why won't your cai pass smog?

Type S intake should pass. won't be cold air but will still give good gains.

Re: I need my car smogged.

buy a K&N intake for your car.

Best gains, PROVEN, and it comes with a nice little sticker for you

you need to find someone who can get you stickers

Re: I need my car smogged.

you don't have any shops there that will let you slide on the visual? i'd say get yourself a "legal" cai. not sure about the aem ones, but the injen ones have the e.o. sticker on them. or... something just popped in my head. when i had my injen sri, it was new enough where the board hasn't issued them the e.o. number yet, so no sticker. a few years later, i wrote them asking them for a sticker, and they sent it to me. try asking them for a e.o. sticker.

Ok, so what should i write to persuade them to give me a sticker, and do you have the website?

Re: I need my car smogged.

^^^ lol.

really you can do either. you're just after the sticker. i didn't say much, just that i had a very early model of their sri, and i needed a e.o. sticker to pass smog. their web site: http://www.injen.com. don't know if they'll still do it, but worth a shot i suppose.

Re: I need my car smogged.

What kind of CAI do you have? If you have a brand name you can follow what hotrod said.

I bet a K&N will give you the same performance gains anyway though ... (which in the end really isnt much anyway)

Plus like I said, you get a nice little sticker to drop right on the side of your engine bay, or on the intake (as its a metal film sticker) or on the top of your hood. Plus you'll have the satisfaction of knowin you have one of the best intake company's stuff under hood. Also the filters are washable and reusable with a 1,000,000 mile warranty.

Cant beat that.
