Re: fidanza flywheel

as for the weight of the flywheel... what are your driving habits like?

Daily driver? if it's a DD you may not wanna go 8lbs. i do not have either flywheel yet but i have been advised that if you will be sittin in traffic than the 8lb is a bitch. can't say first hand though.

Re: fidanza flywheel

I just installed my 8lb Fidanza two days ago and i love it. I daily drive my car and I haven't had any trouble with it at all. Honestly i don't think its any more difficult than the factory flywheel, its just a matter of getting used to it.

97' Lude. What changes did you have to make to your driving habits when you changed to the lightweight flywheel? I really wanna do this and just wanna know what the diff is (besides quicker revs/dropping revs).

You can tell a slight difference but not much, very little. Going from a 12 to an 8 is a lot more noticeable.

Nope. As long as it's made to fit the H22, it's fine. A lot of people mix and match brands. Just make sure it's a quality part from a reputable company.

You just have to rev the car higher to pull off and shift a little faster.

Re: fidanza flywheel

I have an ACT 12.5lb in my DD and its just fine with my ACT Clutch... My Blue Bitch has an ACT Clutch and Fidanza 8lb. It's more about the Pressure Plate you put it with.

Just rev a bit higher when your taking off from a stop. I was freaked out the right before i drove it for the first time after putting the flywheel in because everyone on here said the 8lb was horrible for daily driving. Its not bad at all, plus its more responsive.

Re: fidanza flywheel

I have a fidanza 8 in my lude dd. I hardly noticed a difference from stock. It revs a little "easier" and is a little bit more touchy ata stoplight but you get used to it fast.

Re: fidanza flywheel

Everything everyone has said is pretty much true IMO. I love the 8 lb fw. The "getting used to" is simply learning how to feather the pedal a bit more.

Re: fidanza flywheel

thanks for your help.o yea 1 other thing the fidanza fly wheel has some kinda of stains on it and the guy said he doesnt know y its like that its brand new he said that it could be from the humidity cuz it was sitting for so long. is that true? would that affect it in any way?

Re: fidanza flywheel

it shouldnt affect anything at all. think of the flywheel as a brake rotor except for your clutch....the surface will get worn down over time. Just make sure it isn't cracked and doesnt have gouges etc.

Re: fidanza flywheel

Get a JUN flywheel. Naw but I have yet to hear anything bad about the Fidanza flywheels. That's probably what I will pick up too when I get my clutch done. it might suck in the winter though, not sure
