Generic Help me thread; speedometer problem.

well, i feel bad starting a whole nother thread, but i was wondering if anyone could help me out a bit. so my speedmoeter doesn't seem to work when it's cold outside, and with winter slowly approaching i need to fix it soon. i bought the car with the reverse glow gauges, a couple weeks ago. i dont know if that matters with the wiring or not but thought it might be of importance to know. it's a 97 base model 5 speed. all the other gauges will work but the speedometer with either not move, get stuck at around 25 or stick at 55. if someone could save me here that's be grealty appreciated.

Re: Generic Help me thread; speedometer problem.

It's probably due to the adhesive on the gauge faces. Mine had them when I bought it, and the speedometer would get stuck at 60mph, then sometimes jump to 70 or 80mph. I took them off within a week, due to that issue and the fact that I didn't care for the gauges in the first place. The adhesive ended up being slightly thicker between 60-80mph, which explains why it would stick there. (Had no issues with the speedometer after removing them, although I messed my tach needle up and it now starts at 4k.)
