Re: okay so im in need of some assistance

5th gen, more power, and they are only 40lbs heavier. They look sexy, and you a lot better off finding one with lower miles (mainly because they are newer). I guess it only really matters on your opinion.

Re: okay so im in need of some assistance

Go for which one you like more. Fourth gens (but only onces with the H22A) are faster in a straight line, but the fifth gen is faster when you find some corners due to it's better chassis.

Both have a unique look that needs appreciation, so pick the one you like more.

Better handling is the 5th! and it weighs like 40 more lbs wooo big deal.
I have a leather interior thats 10 years old and its like perfect. It has a great interior.
Go with the 5th, you wont regret it.

thats not possible. its like coming on here asking "what should i get? a prelude or a rustang??"

just go test drive any SI or vtec 4th gen, check out the interior, and see if you've EVER been in any other car with that kinda interior.
5th gen interiors just seem like every other typical honda interior. almost the same exact gauges as my old 95 accord

Re: okay so im in need of some assistance

hahaha i know
the fourth gen seats are sweet plus the sweeping tach is pretty rad not gonna lie.

what about the base vs sh.
i read the resource guide o n spotting sh's so i know their are subtle differences like wheels and shift boots/knobs, but what about the atts...? besides sounding kick ass is it reliable or be likely to cause me trouble down the road...? im looking at something im gonna keep for a long time so longevity is a concern of mine

Re: okay so im in need of some assistance

if you plan on heavily modifying the engine and pushing alotta power, ATTS can't hold more than around 250hp, so thats something to think about.

the auto trannies in the 5th gens are also known for being extremely unreliable and breaking very often.

2 more reasons to get a 4th gen

Didn't know that, all I knew is that the SH has a better suspension and the 5th gen preludes automatic transmission has issues.

Re: okay so im in need of some assistance

I read how someone said the 4th has better interior - i disagree my friend, especially if your like me and got the sweetest interior ever

I think that asking us which gen to get without us giving biased opinions is impossible man, lol. I, honestly, cannot do such a thing. The 4th is a lil lighter and you can probably find one for less, BUT the 5th gen has a way sexier look and if you can find one with leather interior, the interior is dead sexy and I personally LOVE mine. Also - one thing to think about with the 5th gen SH is the amount of extra work you have to put in bc of the ATTS - unless you can fix everything on your own. Taking it to a shop for anything where they have to mess with or deal with the ATTS unit adds on extra hours, meaning an increase of $100 - $200 etc... for the job

Good luck!

And everyone on here that owns a 4g will tell you that there is no comparison. Same goes for the 5g. Just think about this ... the 5g looks like a ford fusion... and you dont want that. IM JUST KIDDING 5G OWNERS!!!

No but in all honesty, I love my 4g to death. I have never owned (and probably will never own) a 5g. I love my lude to death. Its all personal preference. Do some research. You may find that you want a 3g.

Good Luck

if handleing is where you're at then 3rd gen 4WS is what you want... im not just saying that because i have one (or 3) of them either, i've driven a 4th gen 4ws and just didn't seem the same and i've driven a couple 5th gen bases and a 5th gen sh and yeah they handled well but it seemed like they had too much ass to throw around in the corners....

Conflict is on a distinguished road
Re: okay so im in need of some assistance

Well we pretty much listed the pro's and con's on every prelude in existence lol.
Pick the one that you like. Im gonna refrain from saying anything bad about the 4th gens so, in the end, its all up to you man. The main thing we have to remember is, out of all other cars, hes picking a prelude, whatever gen he picks.

Goodluck.

My vote is with the 5ths, but I'm waiting for E to chime in, he's had both.

Re: okay so im in need of some assistance

The 4G looks a lot sportier, in my opinion. That's why I like my fifth gen, if I really want to, I can fool people into thinking I'm a stock broker, haha.

Really, though, the fourth gens look kind of like space ships, and as much of a sci-fi fan as I am, I like the fifth gens because they look just a tad more mature, and they're newer, so lower miles will be easier to find.

Really, though, everyone's right. You pick what you want. I'm not going to tell you not to wear a pink shirt just because I think you'd look like a girl, I'm just not going to wear one, ya' know?

Let's just say, I'd pick a 5G over a 4G any day, even before I had mine.

lol. The inside kind of does too. It just makes it all the more fun to drive. But yes, The 5g has a classier look to it.

Really for everything all in one package, I would say 3g 4WS, and make it custom. Swap a H22 in there and make it something you can call your own. I honestly never liked 3g ludes until I got on here. 91Si4WS has a beautiful 3g. Go check out his ROTM thread. I think you'd be more than satisfied with it.

hahahaha speaking of bud light i was out on a long, yet sadly female-less, weekend lol. yager shots anyone ?:) thanks for all the input. i seriosly appreciate it. as for now im really gonna shoot for a fifth gen but what i go with will ultimately depend on how much money i have. hahah you huys know lol. but thanks for the help and advice. im glad i singed up here for research cause it turns out this is one of the cooler forums out there (as long as you can use a search button ;)jk!).
