Icon6 looking for a lude

Well I'm now looking for a 5th Gen Prelude :D.

Anyone know where I should look? I live near miami(broward country). I look hourly on craigslist and weekly on autotrader. Anywhere else to look?

And any tips to get the seller down on the price or what to look out for? I dont want to spend over $4,000(really cant if I want insurance and to be able to pay for gas..).

Thanks! =D

Re: looking for a lude

i would think more around 5500 to 6000 for good looking 97 base model. and it goes up from there depending on the year and other variables.

Re: looking for a lude

I paid $6500 for my '01...granted it has more than average miles on it for the year, but I thought it was a good deal. You just got to be patient for a good deal and snag it up when it comes.

as they all said you'll be lookin to spend anywhere from $5k to $9k. $9k being the extreme. it'll all depend on condition, miles, who is sellin it, auto or manual (auto is really easy to find but who the hell wants one, LOL) you'll be able to find a real nice one if you are patient and if you are willing to travel.

I bought my EBP :rip: in Florida (i'm up in NY) and just made a sick ass weekend out of it. Flew down, picked her up, drove to daytona beach, chilled for the weekend, then drove like a mad man for 1300 miles. it was so worth it. sucks that the EBP is no more, but now i got my silver SH and couldn't be happier.

good luck and def keep us posted!!

Re: looking for a lude

It will be hard to find something within your budget, although not impossible. It depends on what you're looking for and how long you care to look, and if you want to travel to pick something up. I spent 3 months searching high and low for a 5-speed 5th gen that wasn't red, had a clean title, wasn't too high in price, and didn't have a ridiculous amount of miles. I wanted to spend $5-7k, and ended up buying my 2000 base model for $3,500. It's a manual with a clean title, but had 135k on it (not bad, but had hoped for less originally) and it's silver, which wasn't my first choice in color but it has grown on me. After searching all down the east coast, I ended up only having to drive about 2.5-3 hours to pick it up as well... so, if you have the time and patience, keep searching.

Not over 4K well maybe you should look for a 4th or even maybe a 3rd Gen. Thats a tall order especially for one in good shape. I would say if you find one for 4K then you may have to get one that needs some good ol TLC.

Re: looking for a lude

Yea you might have to down grade to a 4th gen for that price. A guy up here got $4500 gor his red base and it hadd 175k on it. I paid 5500 for my 97 base with 115k.
