Please help!

I have a 98 prelude. It has the factory alarm, but I dont have the remote for it. Its been doing fine for over a year, but now the alarms going off, and causing it to not start! Is there a way I can bypass the factory alarm?

Re: Please help!

Possible battery disconnect....but the factory alarm is only hooked up to your door pins...check those and make sure they are liget..and is your remote busted? If so ive got an extra one. Just let me know

Re: Please help!

Thanks for the reply! I disconnected the battery, but it didnt help. When I connect it the alarm just goes on. As for the remote, when I bought the car it did not have one. I had the car for over a year, and always locked it with the key and had no problems until now.

Re: Please help!

I know how! But its diffrent for each alarm

Normally there is a red button under your steering coloum or where ever they mounted it for your alarm. Press that button for a few seconds and your alarm will be disengauaged, The same button is used to reporgram the remote on some models

Re: Please help!

There should be a killswitch to reset it under the steering column close to the panel on the left side if I remember correctly. it should be a little red tiny button.
