Shaving stuff?

I searched, people, I really did.

I'm wondering how exactly people are filling the holes for the H badges on their cars..?

Is it an insert? Bondo? hah.

I ordered some nice neat little black H badges, like the ones on the Civic EX, I think.

Anyway, silver H, black backing, they were sharp.
Some asshole took them, heh.

So I don't have any H badges, and I kind of like the look, and I'm wondering if I could just fill in the holes, how's it done?

Oh, also, Edit.
How is the "PRELUDE" on the rear bumper attatched?
I was thinking about taking the letters off and painting them like, a glossy black.
I hear it's just a sticker, so I was thinking about just getting a new one, but I'm not totally sure.

Re: Shaving stuff?

to shave the holes you gotta weld them closed, bondo, paint, etc.

"P R E L U D E" are only stickers tho. you can take some floss to them and take 'em right off.

Re: Shaving stuff?

Oh wow, so you have to weld them shut, sand them flush, prime them, and then paint them? :/
I'd rather just buy a new EGP trunk lid, haha.

Re: Shaving stuff?

BONDO SUCKS don't use that ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The wholes are tiny enough to where yuo can moon shape it and just weld it closed, shave it down to where its smooth, add BODY FILLER, sand to smoothness as well, prime is preferred, wet sand that, blend the base, clear and VAVOOM

Most likely with the PRELUDE on the back it will come off and there will be a ghost of the lettering in your bumper.

A lot of elbow grease and some good rubbing compound and the ghost image can be removed. It took me about 7 or 8 applications to get it off, but it looks as if it was never there.

Re: Shaving stuff?

Use a hairdryer to get the PRELUDE lettering off. I took mine off when I f-ed up painting them a week ago and it was a b!tch. I like the look of it. I'll post a pic of what it looks like painted (ignore the messups). Definitely use dental floss or fishing wire or something.

You could probably get them back on with 3M tape. I would recommend using masking tape to mark where the letters went, so you can line em up again.

I don't have a ghost of the prelude lettering FYI.

Re: Shaving stuff?

I actually use Quick Steel for patching up lil holes in areas where stones and stuff can hit it... comes out just as smooth and its alot stronger....

Re: Shaving stuff?

Ok man - I JUST did this and I will give you some sound advice right now. The PRELUDE lettering on the bumper will come off, BUT it will most likely take paint with it. When I did mine I used a heat gun and got it going, used a mechanics wire and scraped up the letters, worked really good but still brought up paint.

As for the holes, it all depends on how you go about doing it, im sure there are multiple ways. I love my Honda
