Help w my tranny. or vtech?

Hello so a couple of times recently I was driving hard and in first gear the car will go up to 6000 rpms and I noticed hey wheres the vtech? and then the rev limiter kicked in. Whats up with that?

One its Vtec, two check your oil level, three there aren't any rev limiters on the Prelude that I know about. You ask about your tranny, you talk you are in first do you have a 5sp or the tiptronic (autostick)

You mention several different possibilities I would go thru each by that mean change/check the oil. change fluid in tranny if auto maybe change the filter. I have heard of the same symptoms on these forums, try using the search function and see what comes up.

i had the same problem and i got the auto stick but a couple days before it stopped working my cold air intake sucked up water
