Re: Cat question

OBD1's only have 1 o2 sensor, on the B pipe.
OBD2's have 2 o2 sensors, one in the cat, one on the header.

So is it confirmed or is there mixed answers? Will a high flow cat get you a CEL?

Re: Cat question

So how easy is it to get a O2 bung? Just for that case of getting a cheaper hi flow Cat, rather than one like this which already has the O2 bung in place.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...spagenameZWDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-H...spagenameZWDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-H...spagenameZWDVW

I personally like the last one nice and shinny

But if you must have Magnaflo

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Magna...spagenameZWD1V

This one even has a CAD drawing with demensions

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAGNA...spagenameZWD1V

I've been watching this one for a bit

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...spagenameZWD1V

There you go almost everything eBay has for us on CAT s.

Re: Cat question

Also thought I would put this out there, as I am about to sell my old Cat to help buy my new one.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...=p4506.c0.m245

Seems people are paying top dollar for the old metal inside the Cat.

a true high flow cat will not throw a CEL...they are usually a lot more expensive and will be much larger. cost is around $200 or so. A test pipe (even with the spot for the O2 sensor) WILL throw a CEL. These usually run anywhere from $25-$70 and will be very thin.....in fact it will look just like the resonator part of the mid-section.

Re: Cat question

I was wondering how do the cars run with test pipes on them, like do they have smooth acceleration or is it choppy and hesitant? Just wondering as I'll have one on my car for a very short time. Long enough for me to take my ol cat off take a couple pics and slap it on eBay, might get like $50 for it, then apply that towards my new high flow.

Anyone used one of those OBX high flows yet just wondering if they give you a CEL.

Re: Cat question

it depends which one you get. they make both a true high flow cat and a test pipe. you asked about the results of a test pipe....rediculously raspy and rediculously loud. I mean REALLY LOUD AND RASPY. very smelly and helps pollute the environment. maybe a 3-8 HP increase depending on other mods. there is a noticeable increase in power but i personally do not think the pros out-weigh the cons.

Yeah I didn't think so, but I didn't want to park the car for that long to pull the old one off and sell on eBay then wait to buy a new one.
