Partial Motegi Kit? Looks good?

Hi guys,

This is my first post. Great forum.
Hope you can help with my questions.

I'm going to buy a Prelude and aim for it to look very similar to the one in the video below but with different rims.
Not fond of mutli-spoke alloys. I really like the ones in edge2lyfe's signature (picture below).

Really looking to have a real clean looking stylish 'lude and not looking to "Rice" it up as you guys call it.
(Here in the UK, we call it "Barrying". A Ricer is know as a Barry Boy.)

Rims from edge2lyfe's signature.

So my questions.

The body kit on the Prelude in the video looks like it has the factory fitted front and back end Motegi body kit.
However the middle bit (under the door) is missing. Is this correct?
I think it looks quite smart like this, especially if lowered a little.
What are your opinions on this? I think I prefer it to the full kit.

Also, what are the rims in edge2lyfe's signature?

Any help appreciated!

Re: Partial Motegi Kit? Looks good?

The Motegi lip kit is the same as the factory OEM lip kit all over the world, expect for the front lip, which I would absolutely kill for (don't wanna trade on a regular OEM one do you?)

You're right, and if you look around the forum a bit you'll notice the general consensus is that lip kits are the way to go with a Prelude. Some go with full bodykits, but there are very few full bodykits that don't butcher the clean lines of the car, so with a lip kit (even as milder one as the OEM one) is a great choice.

Maybe I'll watch the video when I get home from work.

Re: Partial Motegi Kit? Looks good?

Awesome. Thanks for the advice.

What would be the best (sensible) size for the alloys?
In time I'd like to drop it an inch or so.

What is the difference between the Motegi front lip and OEM front lip?

See here for Barry Boys. Pretty funny website.

Re: Partial Motegi Kit? Looks good?

It's all personal preferance mate. I like 17s, think it's the perfect size (says the person who just sold his 17s for a set of 16s), but I"ve seen a few with 18s that looked magic. Saw one in person up close the other week that had 19s on it, which I hated in pictures, but now that I've seen it in person I like it.

Re: Partial Motegi Kit? Looks good?

i had 18's and then downsized to 17's i like the 17's alot better. rides better plus i like the look of a little bit of a meatier tire then the really skinny ones.

that car is absolutely amazing.

I have 18's and I love them. You MUST have the proper suspension in order to have them though.
