Re: tranny went out

That's odd that you axels would flop out. What were u doing at the time? Chances are your tranny isn't hurt, BUT BUT some sevier damage is possible. (After all I haven't seen the auto) if it was just your axle that slipped out then that why ur not moving lol.
Our trannys if not LSD work on an open dofferential design. What's that mean fo you? It means that the wheel with the least traction will always spin. If you axle is out well, that's no traction isn't it. That side will wnat to spin and you won't move.
Now some how that rataining clip failed to hold your axle in place. (Best case scenario) and its now in your transmission. Metal clips flopping around your transmission is bad. So chances are your going to need to remove the tranny split her open and find that retaining clip.
So best case she needs taken out. Worst case she needs taken out.
Its kinda ironic though because usually the clips have issues coming off and cause people headaches that way. But in ur case its causing u a headache because it came off when u didn't want it to.
So give me some more details into what happened and mauybe I can help u more then what I stated above.

Re: tranny went out

how the hell did your axle pop out? what were you doing?

usually the suspension is plenty tight enough to hold the axle in the tranny

Re: tranny went out

ok it didnt completly come out but it move outward. to where it let the fluid out and is not connected. feels more like what is connected on the other side in the tranny broke whatever it is connected to. i was on it pretty hard about 120 in 4th shifted to 5th an that was it no gear.

Re: tranny went out

I would look into the F series tranny...A guy i talked to at Honda just did and H22 swap in his accord...He said it was fast as hell with the new engine swap and his original F series tranny...He got the H series tranny put in thinking it would help out matching up the H series engine and tranny, but he is pissed now because it got slower....Something about the F series tranny gears being longer...I believe he said from 1-2 gear with the F series he is pushin 50-60....and in the H series tranny he was only pushin 30-40...Not sure how much of that is accurate, but i would do some research to find out...Cuz an F series tranny swap may be a good option....

Have you ever replaced your axles? Or are those the ones from the factory?

I can verify that the f series tranny runns 60 mph in second with a h22!!!!! not first to second but the peek point at 2nd gear.

OK what most likly happend was a CV joint was going you never fixed it and it went, lost alot of fluid and f'ed up the tranny.
Get a f series tranny you cant go wrong!!!!
