Timing belt question

Well I have no idea if the Timing belt was ever replaced on my 99 Lude. Now I have mitchell at work and it recommends to replace it at 105000 miles in normal maintenance. But in severe maintenance, it suggest to replace it at 60000 miles. In the severe case for the Tbelt it says if vehicule is regularly operated in extreme temperature conditions.

Now I know all about mitchell and the recommendations as I work in the auto industry. Thing is Im new to Preludes so I would like to get some Prelude owner input. At what mileage do you guys change your tbelts?
My Prelude has just over 70000 miles....
Cause I just want to avoid the fatal break that is a Tbelt failure on a honda engine......
Thanks in advance

Re: Timing belt question

obviously, the earlier the safer you'll be.

but every 90,000 is recommended.

60000 miles is whats recomended but iv never heard of 1 snaping if went over. back here in the land of alcoholics we actuly use those belts for lifting engienes out of cars, they are a very strong belt.the next time you have cash handy, get it done and put all ur worries behind u

Re: Timing belt question

also, if you can, put a manual tensioner from an h23 on instead of the auto tensioner from the h22... it is less likely to fail on you.
