To be honest it's probably electrical. I don't much about auto's but how high can you rev in neutral? How about if you floor it in drive? What about reverse? lol jk

Re: shifting issue

The sport shifter doesn't have a rev limiter on it, besides the normal rev cutoff at 7800 or whatever it is.. I use it to hit about 7500 RPM fairly often, and D3/D4 will only rev up to about 6, just after VTEC, I'm sure Honda did that on purpose, but whatever.

Also, you shouldn't be able to rev up to or past VTEC in neutral anyway.

Sounds more like electrical to me, there doesn't seem like much reason for the tranny to limit you like that.

Re: shifting issue

I don't know how that would have affected it. Was your engine properly warmed up?

mynamehere is on a distinguished road
Re: shifting issue

I had the same problem except the range that it would happen in was a little higher about 6500-6800 wouldnt let me shift into second and would rev like it was put into neutral. I hate to say it but it sounds to me like your tranny is going. I had mine rebuilt and it solved the issue.

Re: shifting issue

that's strange... we assume you have checked the fluid again and all... I had 2 chryslers so I have had my share of tranny trouble (had to replace one), but don't know how to help you...

good luck.
