Door Speakers Type X Alpine

okay this is what I'm wanting to do. I want to replace my door speakers and i know regardless of what size i get i will have to do some customizing. Well I'm looking at the Alpine Type X 5.25 component and 6.5 component speakers. What one should i go with to do the least amount of cutting and fabricating?

The 6.5's will fit in there fine i got some sony 5.25's a couple weeks ago and now i wish i went bigger. You dont really have to do any fabricating other than drilling new holes.

Re: Door Speakers Type X Alpine

def get these speakers bro. go with the 6.5's. i had the alpine type r's in my truck and they were great. the x's are fukkin sweet! they should fit without any custom cutting or fabricating. you will be very happy with these components. you can never go wrong with Alpine and the type x's are the best of the best. like NIKE............. Just Do It!

Re: Door Speakers Type X Alpine

MSRP is like some rediculous amount ($600 i think) but you should be able to get them online for roughly $200 for the component system.

$198.90 - http://www.google.com/product_url?q=...hl=en&sa=title

$197.15 - http://www.google.com/product_url?q=...hl=en&sa=title

$188.15(eBay) - http://www.google.com/product_url?q=...hl=en&sa=title

if you pay under $250 for these it is a good deal and you will be very happy with your purchase. ask nevRun if he has any feedback he deals with sound sh1t for a living. but my opinion is......

ALPINE TYPE X FTMFW!

Those type X alpine were not the ones i was talking about. These other ones are a bit more expensive. go to www.sonicelectronix.com. This is by far an amazing website and after you order they give you a phone call just to confirm your shipping. My buddy got his stuff in about a week and he thought they were great. thats where im gonna get them from.

i like that site. pretty good stuff. i like that they call you to confirm your item has been shipped. you can also try www.ikesound.com for car audio/video... great prices there too but i don't think they carry Alpine. still save the link for future stuff if you want

Re: Door Speakers Type X Alpine

6.5 components FTW. I have Infinities. All you have to do is take the door panel off and cut out the factory speaker basket...I used heavy scissors to cut mine out...piece of cake. Might as well run heavy gauge speaker wire while you're at it. Ran mine through the stock door harness....very clean.

Re: Door Speakers Type X Alpine

I'd be interested in doing a side by side comparison with the Infinity and Alpine speakers.

Re: Door Speakers Type X Alpine

for me,
the difference between the 5.25 and 6.5 wasnt that different
if your going to go with the 5.25's get NICE speakers though.
