Icon6 Apexi WS2 vs. Greddy SP2

FIRST I WANNA START BY SAYING I'M NOT TOO SURE IF THIS THREAD IS IN THE RIGHT SECTION. IF NOT, MY BAD!

OK SO I ORDERED THE APEXi WORLD SPORT 2 EXHAUST FROM A SHOP OUT IN CALI FOR A GREAT PRICE. I SPOKE WITH THE OWNER TODAY AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT IS NOW BACKORDERED. SO IT'S BEEN 2 1/2 WEEKS SINCE I PAID FOR IT AND I REALLY DON'T WANT TO WAIT ANY LONGER. I ALREADY HAVE MY HEADER, FLEX PIPE AND CAT. SO I CALLED APEXi DIRECT AND THEY SAID THAT THE BACKORDER COULD BE ANYWHERE FROM NEXT FRIDAY TO 3 MONTHS FROM NOW. I'M SO PISSED OFF YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

NOW I LOVE THE APEXi WS2 CAT BACK SYSTEM. I WILL SWEAR BY THIS EXHAUST. 2.5" THROUGHOUT NO STUPID GIGANTIC CAN COMIN OUT THE ASS (SORRY TO ALL YOU N1 OWNERS-JUST NOT MY STYLE), IT IS QUIET AT IDLE BUT GIVES A NICE DEEP MEAN GROWL WHEN YOU GET ON THE THROTTLE AND THROUGHOUT VTEC. THE EXHAUST IS JUST THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS... CLASS AND PERFORMANCE.

IN TALKING TO HIM HE MENTIONED THAT THE GREDDY SP2 IS PRETTY COMPARABLE TO THE WS2. I AM A LITTLE APREHENSIVE BUT HE SAID HE THINKS GREDDY HAS THEM IN STOCK I COULD POSSIBLY HAVE 1 IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS.

NOW HERE IS A BIG ISSUE. I GOT THE WS2 FOR $469 SHIPPED AND THE SP2 IS GONNA BE LIKE $609 SHIPPED. ANOTHER $140 IS GONNA SUCK!

I NEED REALLY GOOD FEEDBACK HERE GUYS. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS EXHAUST EXCEPT FOR WHAT LITTLE I HAVE READ. WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
  • BE PATIENT AND WAIT FOR THE WS2?
  • BUY THE GREDDY SP2?
  • IF I WAIT FOR THE WS2 INSTALL HEADER, FLEX PIPE & CAT W/ STOCK EXHAUST WHILE I WAIT?
HELP ME PLEASE. THANKS EVERYBODY IN ADVANCE

Re: Apexi WS2 vs. Greddy SP2

The Greddy SP2 is one of my favorite sounding exhaust systems...way better sounding than the evo - (rolls eye at Daryl ). Not too loud, not too throaty...just right i suppose...

http://media.putfile.com/vid5-50 <--me driving a 5g and you can see my 3rd baby!

I say wait it out or get your money back and buy the SP2...then install everything at once.

Re: Apexi WS2 vs. Greddy SP2

I have the WS2 and I love it. Beware though...it hangs like an elephants ding dong...

Great sound though. Originally, I was opting for the SP2, but it was backordered everywhere, so I gave up and went with the WS2. I LOVE IT!

P.S. Why is this dude always yelling? Dang. his anger makes my eyes hurt.

would it be a bad idea for me to bolt my header, flex pipe, and cat up to my stock exhaust. if it isn't a bad idea i will probably be patient and wait for the WS2

Re: Apexi WS2 vs. Greddy SP2

man after hearing b driving the 5th gen I recommend you be inpatient and get the sp2..

also the ws2 is that great of a deal.. they retail really low compared to sp2
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/APEXI...spagenameZWD1V
So basically you dont need to wait three months, just get it from these guys. And I know its ebay, but this ebay store has credibility, I got my aem v2 from them new, cheap, with fast shipping.

I <3 my SP2, sounds awesome, and doesn't bring on a lot of attention from the cops.

A mate of mine has this. He has the stock cat back exhaust because he didn't want to generate unwanted attention, so it's louder, but not much. But then again, his car looks just like stock, only slightly lower.

Re: Apexi WS2 vs. Greddy SP2

I think Greddy has a web site, w/ vids of each type of exhaust I think the SP2 is on the S2000. But you get the just of it I guess.

www.Greddy.com

I think its more an issue if you want to spend the extra $140 I probably would but then the backordered WS2 might come in just as fast as the SP2. Never know.

I'm another one of the impatient ones but the price difference would make me wait for the WS2 but I'd go ahead and install the header, flex pipe and cat.

I would probably wait and do it all at one time, when I changed my header I took the whole exhaust down and pulled it from under my car as I knew I would have to cut bolts off. Luckily I only had to cut two bolts on the CAT.

Hope your WS2 comes in soon.

Re: Apexi WS2 vs. Greddy SP2

this sucks i have called 9 companies now and nobody has it in stock. i checked out both of the links that are posted below and the same sh1t. back ordered like crazy. i want this exhaust so badly. i am just gonna wait. i just spent $130 on a S2000 Throttle Body so that makes up the difference in cost between the 2 exhausts. i guess it's true... patience is a virtue! thanks all of you who posted your opinions, links, and ideas. i love PZ, this place is great! good people, good tips and advice and sick ass cars!

He doesn't even have his Prelude anymore...
But to the user above, the WS2 gets less attention from cops and has a small piping. The Evo2 is just a mean sounding exhaust but is considerably loud.

Leavemdroolin, if you're looking to buy between the 2 i'd definitely go with the Greddy SP2, especially if this is your DD and you live in snowy areas. The reason why is because the Apex WS only uses stainless steel for the canister but the piping is mild coated steel. The Greddy Sp2 or any greddy exhaust uses full stainless from the 2.5 piping all the way back to the canister. I had one on my del sol and it went through 3 winters without any of the piping rusting. The only thing that rusted on the Greddy sp2 were the welds to hold the hangers. So if you plan on spending $500+ get the Sp2.

I'm not really worried about the piping since I won't be using either that is offered, I will be using a custom 3" piping instead. I am more concerned with the way it sounds overall. I have always pretty much disliked exhausts because for the most part they sound rice. If I could find something with nice low sound and good performance (which I have heard good things about the WS2) then I would be willing to give it a shot.
