Icon5 E-Brake Light

Hey guys kinda confused on what might be the problem with my lude..when i start it up and take off the E-brake the light on the dash doesn't go off and after a while of driving or so it goes off, but when i slow down with normal brakes it turns back on..even if i only slow down from 70 to 45..not sure if it is a pinched wire or if a wire is loose or what..Gonna take the whole center console out and try to fix, but would like some more intel to fix it..Thanks.

Re: E-Brake Light

Sounds like the wire is messed up.

Better then the alternative - stuck E-Brake lol

Re: E-Brake Light

Ok so my fluid level was fine, but I just took off the cap, then screwed it back on tight. I also made sure the 2 connectors comming off of the cap were connected tight.

No more brake light!

You shouldn't have to change out the e brake. I'm pretty sure your light problem is low fluid. as for the e brake if it doesn't hold like it should may be time for new pads in the rear. Also in my 2nd Gen Lude I had to replace a e brake cable once as it was seized up.

FBPPrelude is on a distinguished road
Re: E-Brake Light

I had the brake light come on before. My brakes and fluids were fine. Found out it was the floater causing the light to stay on. So I replaced it and everything is fine now. Got this info from preludeonline.com

Service Bulletin 03-078

Affects
96-00 Civic
97-01 CRV
97-01 Prelude
98-02 Accord

Parts need to fix the problem.

Filter part #46666-S04-J02 List of $5.23
Float part #46662-S84-999 List of $1.97

This seems to happen to me when it's cold outside and my rear pads are low.
