i havent done too much research on them, but from what i gather, the only company that made them stopped making them. Now Forbidden is working on one, but is still figuring something out. You can go with the neuspeed adapter, which doesn't shorten the shifter height, just the throw...

I have one on the way... should be here friday'ish

P-Spec all the way.
Height and throw adjustable. Look to drop a couple bucks on it, but it's worth it. It replaces the entire shifter, and isn't just a cheap adapter. I had a Forbidden shifter on my 4th gen and it was awesome.

But aren't PSpec ones almost impossible to find?

+1 on the Neuspeed adaptor. I fitted one in a friend's car and we were both impressed by it.

Yeah i was looking at the neuspeed adapters because there only $85. But i think i would end up regreting it and wishing i had gotten a real ss kit so im just gunna have to suck it up and give $200 for a p-spec ss kit.

Re: Short shifter

^^ Have you ever taken a look at the P-spec short shifter? The height is adjustable.

Re: Short shifter

Yeah I thought the P Spec that came out earlier last year was the rave?

Since this is on topic, I've heard short shifters come in good for a stage 2 clutch with light flywheel set up?

Just wondering please tell me no, so I don't have to keep spending money.

Re: Short shifter

So you all think a neuspeed adapter is better than P-spec's kit?

Re: Short shifter

As far as I knew PSpec's kit wasn't available...but I've been wrong before.

Which is better is up to you: The Neuspeed adaptor is just that, an adaptor. It is for the want of a better term a quick fix solution to something that isn't really a huge problem, as the standard throw on the Prelude's shifter isn't bad. The Neuspeed adaptor shortens it noticably, and is a high quality part. I wrote a review on it after I finished installing it, have a look around.

The PSpec kit is a full changeover kit, with a shorter shifter hieght and a shorter throw, and as far as I know they can be adjusted as to exactly how short the throws are as well.

It comes down to what do you want, and how much money you have to spend. If you're dead keen on having a full kit, also check out the 4bidden shifter for the fourth gens, because apparantly they bolt in without too much hassell as well.

Re: Short shifter

On pspecs website, they have them for sale for 5th gens...
http://www.pspectuning.com/shifterKits.php

but, i don't know how up to date their site is.
Reading on some other forums, it looks like people were able to get ahold of some earlier this year. Your best bet is going to be emailing them to see if they still have them in stock.

Im personally settling for a neuspeed... its price fits my income better and I dont race... So its a more logical choice for me. Im really just looking for a different feel to see whats out there.

Re: Short shifter

i've got the dc sports adapter, which i'm guessing is close to what the neuspeed is. i got a noticeably shorter shift but not an immensly shorter shift for the money and ease of install an adapter is a good buy.
