youd have to see what the problem is, could be solve-able, other wise engine swap time.

let me show u what the mechanic said it def needs a new engine but im not to sure if thats the only thing... I dont want to spend so much on the car now that im having 2 ludes under my insuance thats another thing i need to find out also how much insurance will cost me.. this is what it said on the invoice
Work
Performed
Vehicle does not start.
Checked for spark ok.
Checked for fuel ok.
Checked injector pulse ok.
Checked compression: CYL1 900kpa, CYL2 700kpa, CYL3 850kpa, CYL4 600kpa, MIN SPECS 1200kpa.
Performed a cylinder leakdown test and found cylinders leaking in between each other.
Drained engine oil and found excessive metal shavings in it.
Removed Engine head.
Visually inspected engine components and found:
Cams are overheated and scored, cylinder walls are slightly scored, crank bearings are worn, piston rods are touching cylinder walls.
Installed a new head gasket.
Reinstalled cylinder head, but still no compression
will need a new engine

but see maybe there is a way i dont have to get a new engine...

If you can get it for a 1000 minus the engine but a sharp body then that isn't too bad a deal. Question is though, can you afford it?

your probably better off buying a new engine. it already has 150K on it so fixing it would kinda be pointless when you could just restart it all from scratch and have it like new. At least that is what i would do. just seems like the smarter choice. also get a new tranny.

if you have the money i say buy it. if you have the space to keep it and work on it. then go for it. but if you don't have time ,money or space then stay away... good luck

You could get the 5spd SiR and tranny with LSD for like 4k and still spend less than I did on my 5th gen, I'd totally do it.
