Passenger doorknob broke

Okay so i was doing some audio work with my buddy and he opened the passenger door and the handle doesn;t shut all the way anymore. We opened the door up and a peice broke right above that holds the spring down. Can anyone help on how to go about fixingg this problem. The spot was really difficult to get to. There is also this metal peice that we can;t seem to get off.
Should i go to the dealer or go to junk yard and get that peice?

Please help!!!!!

Doorknob eh? I hope your not using dead bolts to lock your lude up too?

But just like bravo said hes parting out is poor lude :-( so you might be able to find what you need pretty cheap.... If not check out some part outs on ebay... Im sure you will be able to find the used piece eventually just be patient if you dont see one right away...
The dealer is going to charge you WAAAY TO MUCH.... Junk yards your going to be hard pressed to find the parts if a prelude at all....

Generally if you find the part at the junk yard its been my experience they are about half what they cost new at the dealer sometimes a bit more.

My passenger side door handle has always been like that since I bought it, I usually never have anyone riding with me so I never got to replacing it. Its not that bad though when I open it, it just doesn't pull back like my driver's side does as the spring is still attached on that side. I have been meaning to get that fixed and doing a DIY write up w/ pictures but it seems, my clutch has taken the front seat for repairs now
