lude puttin hole in pocket

ok so i went to change my ****ty radiator oses today along wit the thermostat and all hell broke loose. the radiator broke were the hose conects so we all kno that means new radiator- $80 (good deal) then the thermostat i bought wasnt the right one-$20 (screw pepboys), new thermostat $20, hoses coolant clamps- $78, having half of your classmates and teacher tryin to fix a broken down car 1 mile away from school- priceless....the car was overheating is was fixed but is now again because the coolant is not going back into the radiator its coming out of the thermostat housing were the temp gauge comes off and u can pull the thermostat out thats were coolant is spilling out of. soooooo
could it be

the black gasket or seal wat ever it is that goes on the thermostat
or
there no being a actual gasket conecting the 2 metal pieces together which are the piece that connects the lower hose to the block where if u pull off you will see the thermostat im pretty sure it the temp gauge.... im hopin its because its 2 metal pieces with no gasket and not the actual thermostat piece does any one kno for a fact wat it can be cuz to me if the seal on the thermostat wasnt working it wouldnt spill out of the housing so hopefully its becuase the housing has no gasket

If you pull the hose off to the thermostat housing then thats your upper radiator hose, your lower goes back to the rear of the motor and connects to the metal tube coming from your waterpump housing. As for the housing there is no gasket but on the thermostat itself I think you can get a rubber gasket if one is not on there it may leak.
