I plan to make my ride thread once its all done, because right now my car is sitting on jack stands with no wheels, haha.

Once everything is running and i get my deck/sub/amp I will get some pics, probably gonna change the gauge cluster lights too.

Yeah im trying to convince the dad to buy a nice stainless steel header :D

i think he is going too..

except he keeps ebaying stuff and im a lil bit nervous about it, he bought some cold air intake that was a "Mr. Gasket" brand.

He wants to buy the header off there. I want to get the megan racing header, because I want there cat-back exhaust also.

if your not going for performance then a dc sports header would be good.. but if you want something for a power gain then i would go with Hytech or SSR header..

Headers: I've heard some people say megan and obx are okay, others say they don't recommend them.. The Dc sports, hp racing, megan, obx don't give a lot of gain... you might get a ceramic header instead to help move that heat... "good" headers cost about a grand... mine was $275 at my shop, hp racing I believe... never asked, looks like dc but without the dc badge on it.

Intake: The Mr. Gasket people told me that their stuff is re badged AEM stuff (filter too)... if this is true, it should be good... My shop did my short ram... half the pipe for the true CAI (it is a 2 piece thing), they threw a kool blue filter on and it was good to go.

Even if the filter you get is crap you can use the pipe from mr. gasket and get a better filter... AEM, K&N, etc...

here's my ride (you can see what my intake looks like):

Yeah I am not necessarily lookin for performance here, I just want something good looking that I know isn't some random brand, it makes me nervous to get a stainless steel header that only costs 130 shipped...

I just want a good quality piece, not some crap, I think the megan racing header is just that, it costs almost 500 w/o shipping. Which isn't bad.

The sound of there cat-back exhaust is amazing too.

^ if he is paying, check it out and give us a review... I think I had a link to one like that... looks good, maybe it's worth the risk at that price, esp since you want looks most... should be better than the $13-20 ones... lol

The megan is only $75 more... and the seller has a better rating, but I'd love to get a report on XRteam! It would be a first.

Yeah maybe I will have him get it, guess the worst that could happen is i have to put the stock header back on lol..

But all I am waiting on right now is the new belts and stuff my dad ordered.

He also ordered a red valve cover so i can make it look like the type-s haha!

XRteam is a pretty good group..i have did business with them..never for performance parts but overall they match up with what they say about the product. So but if we wanna actually know if there is a increase you would have to run the car with stock headers and then put the XRteams headers on and run it with that on a dyno to see if any power gain..also if you get to much above your stock HP you better look into gettin Stage 1-2 clutch for better pressure otherwise the stock wont hold up for long.

Lol, all I am doing is the I/H/E, I doubt I will get too far above what my stock hp is.

I would but my dad thinks there too expensive, so for now, whatever he buys is what goes on my car, its not like I paid for the car or engine, I am only 16 .

I probably will eventually save up and go from header back with Megan Racing.

Dude, he sounds like he is talking straight, and the thing looks good in the pic.. In all honesty no cheap stainless header (DC, Megan, XRteam, etc...) is going to make much power, the pipe is barely bigger than stock on a good day... maybe they flow a little better, but it really is not going to be a performance gain. You can buy almost 2 for the price of the Megan, and Pops is buying... try it out :)

If you wanted a ceramic header that doesn't look as good I might say obx would be okay, but that isn't what you are going for and it isn't going to make a difference on a daily driver in terms of power...

Anyone who really wants to take advantage of their bolt-ons needs to be tuned anyway. I don't think that XRteam looks like nearly as big a risk as some of those other ebay crap one's that don't even have a name (for obvious reasons)... At least yours will have a name, you can even stick a bis ass XRteam decal in you windows ;) j/k, but seriously, it isn't going to hurt anything to try the thing out and review it for us. :)

the dc header was dyno proven to give about 5whp on the h23a1, but I have been told the gain on the h22 was not as great... the dc header looks exactly the same as that XRteam (minus the dc badge on top) and will prob function similarly.

Also, I wouldn't worry about the clutch for now, but when it is time to replace it I would consider it... a stage 1 (which will be plenty) feels great (I have a competition clutch, but ACT, Clutchmasters, and others are great too)... You don't NEED it, but you might LIKE it... maybe an 11 flywheel too if you want.
